The Destroyers hated fancy frills most of all.
Of course, they also hated math, decimal points, balls of yarn, noodles, complexity, change, replacement, scheming, cages, trash, filth, bugs, solid colors, and...
Creatures like these were utterly incompatible with the Academic World.
But the Destroyers did not hate scholars.
It was strange, yet perfectly reasonable.
The human scholars were their enemies. As the war unfolded, they had killed countless Destroyer warriors, and even Great Chieftain Bloodboil and Clan Chief Liyou had died at the hands of human scholars—or at least, that was how the Destroyers saw it. By the standards of most species, this would surely have been a blood feud to the death.
But the Destroyers did not see it that way.
Instead, they admired this formidable enemy even more!
In the Destroyers' eyes, weakness was a sin, while strength earned respect.
The Academic World had now become a worthy enemy in their eyes, rather than a bunch of bugs they were forbidden to exterminate only because the Ancient Ones had ordered it. They were proud to be able to fight such an enemy!
"Is that the X Advancement Academy of the Academic World?"
An army of tens of thousands of Destroyers appeared just over twenty kilometers from the X Advancement Academy.
They gazed into the distance at the towering air ports and high towers, as well as the walls, even taller and thicker than those of the two central academies they had attacked before. The hot blood in their hearts rushed to their heads, and they imagined the City of Blossoms burning beneath their feet, reduced to ruins. Their spirits soared.
More Destroyers were still emerging from ancient flying devices, leading Lava Hounds by their leashes. Wherever they passed, the green grass withered to yellow, then crumbled into ash.
