"Let's eat, enough talk," Jiraiya picked up the grilled meat and started eating.
Tianqi and the other two also dug in, leaving Sarutobi staring blankly. In less than two minutes, the meat on the table was gone.
"Boss, another twenty portions of meat," Jiraiya directly ordered.
"What are you thinking? Twenty isn't enough. Boss, fifty portions!" Tianqi was even more demanding, ordering fifty.
Tsunade and Orochimaru on the side looked at Tianqi in shock. Jiraiya ordering twenty was understandable, but fifty? Could he possibly eat that much?
They had clearly underestimated Tianqi's appetite. The seventy portions of meat arrived and were quickly devoured.
"Boss, keep it coming, keep it coming!" Tianqi urged the owner, still chewing.
The others stared at him in shock. Jiraiya had eaten his fill, while Sarutobi covered his face and said, "I forgot about this guy's appetite. My wallet is going to be empty again."
"Orochimaru, Tsunade, how was your day with Tianqi?" Sarutobi asked his two beloved students.
"Hmm? How to say it... it was okay, just a bit tiring," Tsunade recounted the day's events to Sarutobi, with Orochimaru chiming in agreement.
"Hahaha, don't blame Tianqi. He's always been like this. I'm quite relieved he's teaching you," Sarutobi said with a smile after hearing Tsunade's story.
"Your elder brother Tianqi never went to school as a child. I only taught him later. Tianqi is the most talented person I've ever met. Even Lord Second Hokage, I feel he's not as good as him," Sarutobi said, sincerely sighing as he recalled Tianqi. He was glad he made the right choice back then. If he had pushed Tianqi to rebellion, Konoha would have faced a super-strong opponent.
Hearing that Tianqi never went to school as a child and that he was better than the Second Hokage, Tsunade's interest was piqued. "Teacher Sarutobi, what's the story? Tell us!"
As a fellow genius, Orochimaru was also filled with curiosity about Tianqi.
Jiraiya, always interested in anything about the Hokage, especially something surpassing a Hokage, chimed in, "Old man, tell us quickly, tell us!"
Seeing his disciples' interest, Sarutobi recalled the village's treatment of Tianqi when he was young. "There's nothing much to say. Just know that Tianqi is very strong." He was afraid that bringing up the past would remind Tianqi of the unfair treatment he received from the village, which might lead to rebellion. That wouldn't do.
Hearing Sarutobi stop, the others muttered, "Talking halfway, you'll be alone in old age."
Sarutobi was overthinking. If Tianqi wanted to rebel, he would have done so long ago. Tianqi, at the moment, was only focused on devouring the food in front of him.
An hour later, Tianqi finally ate his fill, contentedly picking his teeth with a toothpick at the entrance. Sarutobi was settling the bill with the owner, explaining as he paid.
"Boss, I didn't bring enough money today. How about I send it to you later? Would that be alright?" Sarutobi said apologetically to the owner. He really hadn't expected that not only would his wallet be emptied today, but it wouldn't even be enough to cover the bill.
"It's alright, it's alright. Later is fine. Lord Hokage, I trust you," the owner recognized Sarutobi. He had initially considered waiving the bill for the new Hokage, but upon seeing the amount, he immediately changed his mind. That much money was equivalent to a month's pure income. If he waived it, he'd be working for nothing for a month.
"Okay, thank you, boss. I'll have someone send it over later," Sarutobi said and walked out.
"You're too kind. Welcome back anytime," the owner said with a smile as he saw Sarutobi off.
At the entrance.
"Brother Sarutobi, why is settling the bill taking so long? You're not old yet, are you?" Tianqi said to Sarutobi.
"Yeah, old man, you're too slow," Jiraiya added.
Sarutobi ignored them, putting his now empty wallet back into his pocket before leaving without looking back.
"Teacher Sarutobi, what's wrong? He's acting strange today," Tsunade said, looking at the departing Sarutobi with confusion.
"He's probably going back to lament over his money. Don't mind him. The Hokage treats them to a meal, and he's still so stingy. So cheap," Tianqi directly called Sarutobi stingy. If Sarutobi Hiruzen heard this, he'd probably cry himself to death in the restroom. It's not me who's stingy, it's you who eats too much!
"Alright, tomorrow, we'll meet at the mission hall entrance sharp at eight to pick up missions. For now, everyone go home," Tianqi said and vanished before the three.
The three also returned to their respective homes.
Tsunade was quite curious about Tianqi. Coupled with Sarutobi only telling half the story, she decided to ask her grandmother about Tianqi. Tsunade's grandmother was the wife of Hashirama Senju, Princess Mito Uzumaki of the Land of Whirlpools, and the current Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails.
Soon, Tsunade arrived at Mito Uzumaki's residence. Pushing open the gate, she found Mito sitting alone in the room.
"Little Tsunade, you're here. Come, sit," Mito said warmly as she saw Tsunade push the door open. She doted on this granddaughter, as did Hashirama and Tobirama.
"Grandma, no need. I just wanted to ask you about someone today." Seeing Mito about to get her food, Tsunade quickly stopped her and got straight to the point. She had just eaten grilled meat and couldn't eat anymore.
"Oh? Who is it? As long as they're from Konoha, I know them. Ask away, little Tsunade," Mito said, readily agreeing when she heard it was a simple matter.
"Grandma, do you know about Uchiha Tianqi's past?"
Hearing Tsunade ask about Tianqi's past, Mito was taken aback. "Little Tsunade, why are you asking about him?"
"It's nothing, just curious. Grandma, do you know or not?" Tsunade looked at her grandmother curiously. For some reason, when Tianqi was mentioned, her grandmother's expression changed.
"Since you want to know, little Tsunade, I'll tell you."
Hearing her grandmother was about to speak, Tsunade cupped her chin with her hands and began to listen.
"Speaking of Tianqi, we have to start with his father, Uchiha Madara. Because Uchiha Madara married late, he only had a son when your parents were already grown. Then..." Ten thousand words omitted here.
"That's how it happened," Mito told Tsunade everything about Tianqi's birth and how the village treated him.
"So that's how it was. I never expected the strong elder brother Tianqi to have such a tragic past. Second Grandfather really went too far. Second Grandfather is a bad person," Tsunade cursed her Second Grandfather after hearing Tianqi's story.
"Alright, little Tsunade, your Second Grandfather was thinking of the village. Didn't he let Tianqi go later? So he's not a bad person," Mito said, stopping Tsunade from cursing Tobirama Senju. Although Tobirama Senju had indeed done wrong, he had changed later. He had only passed away not long ago, and little Tsunade, as a junior, shouldn't curse him like this.
"Okay, Grandma, I understand. I'll head back now," Tsunade said and walked towards her home, which was right next to Mito's. Her parents, as descendants of Hashirama Senju, had died long ago, leaving behind only a younger brother who was a few years younger than Tsunade.
"Little Tsunade, take care. Come again next time," Mito watched Tsunade leave.
"Got it," Tsunade waved and left.
Back home, Tsunade thought about Tianqi all night. Elder brother Tianqi was an orphan, ostracized by the villagers. She truly didn't know how he had come this far.
