The new room looked much the same as the previous one.
"An extra layer of security always brings peace of mind."
He glanced at the time. Only three minutes remained until the cooldown for Door ended.
He entered the restroom and waited quietly.
Light and shadow intertwined, and Lin Qi traversed boundless darkness to arrive in the apocalyptic world.
Lin Qi stood inside the restroom of the student activity building, his clothes, still warm from his body, placed beside him as if he had just taken them off a second ago.
In terms of the apocalyptic world's time, he had indeed just taken them off.
He put on clothes bearing the words "Magic University Robot Combat".
Lin Qi walked out of the restroom and into the workshop where he had previously manufactured and assembled the M-level mecha.
Xia Chu was organizing a small adjacent storeroom to use as a temporary resting place.
Lin Qi picked up more parts and began assembly.
The device Lin Qi was assembling this time was not complex. If Xia Chu were nearby, she would immediately recognize it as a radio signal transmitter.
Compared to traditional radio signal transmitters, Lin Qi's version had been modified with some concepts from "Cyber World".
Its power output was very strong.
Previously, Lin Qi had analyzed various signals in the apocalyptic world from the rooftop using Collecting Robot, concluding that strong interference was causing the communication blackout.
However, this analysis also indicated that with a sufficiently strong signal, it could indeed propagate over a very small area.
Lin Qi's goal was to spread the radio signal throughout the Magic University campus.
"Lin Qi, is that a radio?"
Xia Chu, having finished organizing the storeroom, came to Lin Qi's back to call him for a rest and saw the radio equipment.
"Yes, we can't rendezvous with the rescue team for now, and the students at Magic University won't be rescued anytime soon."
"I plan to gather survivors, establish a temporary base within Magic University, and build an industrial system."
Lin Qi's idea was simple: he wasn't aiming for dominance, just enough survivors and technology from "Cyber World" to grow rapidly in this apocalyptic world.
Only with a sufficient population scale could Lin Qi more easily collect Extraordinary Item, and even uncover the truth behind the apocalypse.
His intuition told Lin Qi that the truth of the apocalypse was not simple, likely involving the extraordinary, and at an extremely high level.
The single blood-red moon in the sky was enough for Lin Qi to make such a guess.
Perhaps this world had no extraordinary beings before, but its extraordinary elements far surpassed those of "Cyber World".
Xia Chu agreed with Lin Qi's idea: "That's a good thing."
Many days had passed since the apocalypse began. Although Xia Chu had Lin Qi's company, she still felt a sense of loneliness.
Her former classmates, teachers, even her parents far away...
Suppressing her emotions didn't mean they didn't exist.
It was just that the current reality of the apocalypse didn't allow Xia Chu to be too sentimental.
Lin Qi finished the final assembly and plugged the power cord into the wall socket.
Might as well save power where possible; the electricity hadn't gone out yet anyway.
He set the radio to cycle through various emergency frequencies, confident that the Magic University survivors who had made it this far wouldn't be foolish enough not to have a radio turned on.
Magic University, Dormitory Building 12, Top Floor.
Nine survivors were gathered in a dormitory room.
"That mecha is back. It seems the situation outside isn't good. The genius from the Mechanical Engineering department probably hasn't found the rescue team."
"The radio has been silent for a long time. I wonder if the signal interference has gotten stronger, or if the rescue team has already..."
"We have enough supplies to last about 20 days. If there's no rescue in another week, we'll have to take our supplies and try to save ourselves."
The young men sat around in the darkness, discussing.
Their supplies were currently relatively abundant.
At the beginning of the apocalypse, they had gathered and, following instructions from official broadcasts on the radio, cleared the Zombies in their building.
In a corner of the dormitory, they even had a pile of Crimson Crystal they had harvested and not yet consumed.
"But if the rescue team is gone, how can we save ourselves?"
Someone posed the question, adding a touch of despair to the darkness.
"Rely on the Crimson Crystal. Our bodies will grow stronger. In about another week, we'll be able to consume most of the crystals."
"Then we can communicate with other survivors using the large diagrams. As long as we gather together, hundreds of strengthened survivors will be a considerable force."
Hope seemed to still exist.
But...
"What about the monster downstairs? How do we deal with it? That thing is too fast. Even if all nine of us charged at it, we wouldn't be a match for it."
Someone always doused the flames of hope with cold water, even when facing a real predicament.
"Why are you so talkative?"
An argument seemed about to erupt.
Just then, a crackling sound emerged.
It was the receiving equipment picking up a new wireless signal.
Not just the survivors gathered in this one dormitory.
Every building on Magic University, every survivor gathering point.
There were male dorms, female dorms, faculty apartments, even security guards gathered in a certain teaching building.
Everywhere survivors were attempting to survive and had assembled radio equipment, this sound of hope rang out.
"This is Iron Man Society, from the Magic University Club Activity Building. Lin Qi first greets all survivors of Magic University."
"All survivors within the Magic University campus, please hang a clear marker in a conspicuous location. I will conduct a rescue operation in a mech after daybreak."
"Our temporary survival base is the Club Activity Building."
"At the same time, after completing the area rescue, I will leave high-power wireless communication equipment at a designated location, sufficient to cover the entire Magic University campus."
"The rescue will last for 48 hours."
"If any survivors are missed, please go to the designated location after 48 hours to obtain the equipment and contact the survivor base."
"Secondary rescue operations will continue to be deployed."
Lin Qi's voice spread throughout the entire Magic University campus via the high-power radio.
Survivors closer to the Club Activity Building all turned their gaze towards the mech standing beside the building.
The emotion of hope spread within the range of the wireless signal.
As for the survivors further away, who couldn't see the mech in action, they began to feel confused.
Did they hear that right?
A mech?
Are our Magic University students this capable?
Iron Man Society?
They didn't have much impression of it.
But the Magic University Robot Combat team was quite famous.
Lin Qi must be a student from Magic University's Mechanical Engineering department.
Whether they were confused or disbelieving, all survivors would not let go of any chance of rescue.
They immediately took action, setting up more conspicuous markers outside their respective survival bases under the cover of night.
When the night receded and sunlight shone upon the Magic University campus, all survivor gathering points were revealed.
Nearly a hundred in total!
