Then Wang Yu left the shelter and headed to the stream to collect stones. He needed stones about twenty to thirty centimeters across.
There were plenty of stones that size beside the stream.
Wang Yu picked up stones along the stream. Whenever he willed it, a stone he'd picked up appeared in his Backpack.
He tested it and found that he couldn't put a stone in his Backpack if he couldn't lift it.
Before long, he had filled one cubic meter of his Backpack with stones.
Wang Yu returned to the shelter and took the stones out of his Backpack one by one.
A large frame appeared on the Light Screen before him.
He could see every stone inside the frame. When he thought of a particular stone, it appeared in his hand, and he could set it on the ground.
After taking out a Backpack's worth of stones, Wang Yu left the shelter again.
He needed to dig up some soil. There was soil everywhere outside the shelter, and Wang Yu found a damp patch. Once dug up, it was mud.
Wang Yu used the Tin Bucket to carry the mud. After filling four Tin Buckets, he returned to the shelter.
The materials were ready.
He was going to build a fireplace inside the shelter.
Wang Yu chose a spot at the very back on the left, where two giant stones met, past the stairs leading downstairs.
The only materials needed to build the fireplace were stones about twenty to thirty centimeters across and mud.
First, where the two giant stones met, he laid stones on the ground against both Stone Walls, making a one-meter-by-one-meter square.
These stones would serve as a fireproof layer.
Then he spread mud over them and smoothed it out with the Entrenching Tool, completing the fireplace's foundation.
On the foundation, still pressed against both Stone Walls, he arranged stones into a circle with an inner diameter of forty centimeters.
Then he plastered the stones with a layer of mud.
Once the mud was in place, he added another ring of stones, leaving a twenty-five-centimeter opening at the front for the fireplace mouth.
He would add firewood through this opening.
Then he coated the stones with another layer of mud and capped the top of the fireplace with stone slabs.
Of course, he had to leave an opening for the chimney where the two giant stones met above the fireplace.
Next came the construction of the fireplace chimney.

The chimney was crucial to the shelter Wang Yu had designed. If the smoke couldn't vent properly, the entire shelter would fill with smoke and become uninhabitable.
Only after seeing that the chimney was working properly did Wang Yu relax.
Then Wang Yu climbed onto the giant stone.
There had originally been 72 Large Wooden Planks on top of the giant stone. After using 27 to cover the floor, he had 45 Large Wooden Planks and four Large Logs left.

The Large Log was 5.45 meters long, slightly longer than the distance between the Stone Walls, so Wang Yu used the Large Wooden Mallet to hammer down its raised end until the log sat level on the posts.
The first Large Log was now in place on the posts, wedged firmly.
Wang Yu then used the same method to place the other Large Log on the other post.
This gave the shelter two crossbeams.
Next, Wang Yu had to lay Large Wooden Planks across the beams.
Laying planks across the beams was exactly the same as laying them on the ground.
He set the planks across the beams one by one, wedging them tightly between the two giant stones.
The planks above had to be wedged especially tightly. If they came loose and fell, it would be disastrous.
Once he'd laid all 23 Large Wooden Planks, a wooden floor stretched across the shelter overhead, 4.6 meters long.
Of course, Wang Yu left an opening more than eighty centimeters wide beside the stairs.
He made it large enough for him to climb up and down easily.
After all this, the shelter had a first floor and a second floor.
The first floor had an interior height of 2.8 meters, about the same as an ordinary Residential Area home.
