Background
The Wild Rat King first appears as the target of Wang Yu’s second Wilderness Trial. It emerges from the Rat King Cave as a grayish-yellow giant rat comparable in size to a bear. Though agile and intelligent, it flees upon seeing Wang Yu, his fire pit, and ten Big Dogs. Wang Yu later discovers that its displayed value is 83,600. 88
Wang Yu eventually traps the Rat King in a cave passage with stones and crushes it with a giant stone, completing the trial. Its reward is a Wild Rat King Sculpture, a medium that can summon the creature as Wang Yu’s bound extraordinary item. 90 92
The summoned Wild Rat King immediately demonstrates submission and telepathic understanding. Wang Yu assigns it to patrol around his shelter and repel ordinary wild rats; it explains that it can eventually control wild-rat groups as its level rises. 92
Using his dice, Wang Yu multiplies the sculptures and builds a force of Wild Rat Kings. They become key mounts, scouts, swarm commanders, and battlefield assets throughout successive survival scenarios. 94 98
Appearance
A Wild Rat King resembles an enormously enlarged wild rat, initially grayish-yellow and bear-sized. It grows progressively larger as it advances, developing a more muscular body and, at C+, sharp claw blades on its forepaws. 88 155
- Small eyes disproportionate to its massive body. 88
- Furred, bear-sized body at its initial F-rank. 92
- Big King exceeds two meters in height at C-rank. 155
- Fire-mutated Wang Si develops three huge heads and later reaches roughly four meters in height at A-rank. 379 814
- Gold-mutated Wang Wu gains golden fur after consuming a golden crystal. 310
- Bone-mutated Wang San’s body becomes hard bone. 373
- Some Wild Rat Kings can enlarge to roughly fifteen meters when summoned for battle. 484
Personality
Wild Rat Kings possess high intelligence and can communicate telepathically with Wang Yu. The first Rat King is initially cowardly, fleeing rather than engaging Wang Yu in the Rat King Cave, but its summoned form is obedient and submits to Wang Yu’s commands. 88 92
As king-type beasts, they exert instinctive authority over wild rats. A D-rank Big King can halt an opposing rat tide with a cry, causing the rats to tremble and their wild king to beg for mercy. 126
