Background / History

Konan was one of Jiraiya's three disciples alongside Yahiko and Nagato. In the early Akatsuki, she handled logistics near the base and often mediated between Yahiko's idealism and Shiba Seika's ruthless pragmatism. She believed Seika's ability and strategic judgment remained necessary to the organization despite Yahiko's anger over his conduct. 2

Yahiko assigned Konan to accompany Seika on the investigation of the merchant Ando, hoping she could persuade him to embrace Akatsuki's ideals. Instead, Seika spent their time together learning from her Paper Style, paper weapons, concealed Exploding Tags, and aerial movement.
