56 Chapter 56 (1/2)

Yu Sui hadn't expected the two of them to run into each other like this.

Gu Gan had come by plenty of times before, usually to see Xun Zhiya.

When he wanted to find Yu Sui, he had to send her a message through the Listening Wind Ruler first. Otherwise, he might well arrive at the dorm only to find her gone, since Yu Sui often stayed at the Ghost Dao Saint Hall and didn't come back to sleep.

With no other choice, Yu Sui checked the Five Elements Light Core she had left in the room to see what was happening there.

At that moment, Gu Gan watched as Mei Chengyu sauntered out of Yu Sui's room as if no one else were there, perfectly composed. His expression darkened as he stared at the food box in Mei Chengyu's hand and demanded, "What did you take from Suisui's room?"

Mei Chengyu smiled, his tone light and airy. "Want to know? Ask my Junior Martial Sister."

He made no effort to hide how much he wanted to stir up trouble; his expression was downright malicious.

Yu Sui was sending Gu Gan a message to explain. She thought that if he didn't want to expose himself and invite suspicion, he'd better hold back and not fight Mei Chengyu.

The Listening Wind Ruler in Gu Gan's hand buzzed, but he had no inclination to look at it. He kept his eyes on Mei Chengyu.

The faint mockery in Mei Chengyu's teasing gaze displeased Gu Gan. What gave him the right to look at him like that?

"Open it," Gu Gan said.

He pointed at the food box in Mei Chengyu's hand.

"If you've got the guts, come take it." Mei Chengyu ignored him and headed for the door.
