Self I
The superficial reality is seeing the world beyond our own senses through our senses. But even after transforming reality through other instruments or new organs, it is still converted into signals that we can understand and input into our senses.
The middle layer of reality involves directly modifying one's own sensory organs, bypassing a layer of transformation, making it more convenient and less distorted.
The deeper truth, however, is that Lin Hui, at this moment, directly transcends his senses, confronting reality through imprinting and spiritual connection.
But his fear of himself, the fear that he might be an illusion, prevented him from taking another step forward.
Is consciousness truly a part of the self?
Lin Hui closed his True Sight and asked himself this question.
The question of what the self truly is has been pondered and deduced by countless thinkers and philosophers.
Is the self real? Or is it something transcendent, or simply an illusory platform created to facilitate the management of the body, soul, and other material energies?
Nobody knows the real answer.
True Sight, however, is the direction from which the answer may be found.
Sitting cross-legged inside Clear Jade Mountain, Lin Hui stopped focusing on the changes brought about by the evolution of the other rank members.
He stood up and pointed to the stone table in front of him.
Suddenly, an extra table appeared beside them, and it was an identical table.
"!?" Lin Hui was taken aback.
This feeling...
Completely different from before!
Previously, when he materialized, he was able to replicate new tables. But this second table is different from the one before him.
Materialized replication is simply absorbing the remaining particles and recombining them to create a new table that looks similar but is actually different.
But this time... he created a new batch of particles out of thin air, forming a new table. Therefore, this new table is exactly the same as the previous table.
However, due to the different spatial locations and the different external information received, the second table was already different from the first the moment it was created. But, this method of creating something out of thin air... Lin Hui had never seen it anywhere else.
"Is the 'complex' position truly about creating something from nothing, about replication?" Lin Hui thought to himself, seemingly having a sudden realization.
The True Status seems to be vastly different from the social status he perceives.
However, having reached this point, he wasn't sure about his current strength. Perhaps he could go out and give it a try.
The Celestial Venerable inherently possesses nine permanent methods of rule-based power; so what about the Celestial Venerable of True Status?
Thinking of this, his figure instantly disappeared from the courtyard, and the next moment, he appeared ten miles away from Clear Jade Mountain.
In the Black Domain void, the surroundings were pitch black, and there were hardly any world spheres.
This is a desolate area between the Clear Jade Mountain region and the other living areas. The vast expanse is completely empty, without a single living creature. It's perfect for Lin Hui to conduct his tests at will.
He randomly changed direction, not facing Clear Jade Mountain.
Then reach out and gently swipe forward.
A light blue Wind Energy sword light suddenly shot out, exploding into countless tiny void rifts around it.
"If it's nothingness, why are there cracks and fissures?" This thought flashed through Lin Hui's mind.
Previously, he relied on these cracks to leap and traverse at high speed without delving into their intricacies, but now doubts arose within him.
However, the most crucial thing right now is to test the effect of the traditional Chinese character grid.
Watching the blue sword light fly further and further away, Lin Hui's heart stirred slightly, and he mobilized a trace of his power, mixing it into the light.
Laugh!
In the next instant, the blue sword light split into two!
Moreover, the two attacks are exactly the same in terms of power, effect, shape, and direction.
As expected..."Lin Hui dispersed the sword light and absorbed its Wind Energy back into his body. To his surprise, the Wind Energy he had just emitted had also doubled out of thin air.
"If that's the case, then how about this?"
He gently drew the Golden Crow Sword from his waist.
Then, a wisp of the power of complexity was separated and merged into it.
Laugh!
The next moment, a second identical Primordial Golden Crow Sword appeared, and even the wronged souls of the Golden Crows inside were exactly the same!
"What about cause and effect? What about trouble?" Lin Hui knew very well that the Primordial Golden Crow Sword carried the enormous karma of the Golden Crow Clan, and wondered if this newly copied sword would also...
With a sweep of his divine sense, the past and future of the new Golden Crow Sword immediately appeared.
As he predicted, the new Golden Crow Sword was blank, with no past and no future, existing only in the present moment.
A perfect replication untouched by cause and effect... This power of complexity is somewhat exaggerated... So, let's examine its limits.
Lin Hui gripped his sword in his right hand, intent on testing something unusual.
He just floated quietly in the void.
Suddenly, a faint, cool fragrance wafted from her body.
The Cold Palace Demon Incense silently appeared in the surroundings, spreading across the void Black Domain for at least several light-years.
Now that he's reached his current size, the ability of the Devil Incense to scale proportionally to his body size naturally wouldn't have such a small range. However, Lin Hui was intentionally controlling it, so he only used a tiny bit of it to project.
Then, with a thought, he released a wisp of his power towards the Devil Incense.
hiss.
In an instant, the Devil Incense rapidly expanded its range, doubling in size in the blink of an eye, covering a much larger area than before.
Again.
Lin Hui infused the power of prosperity once more, intending to test its limits.
In theory, apart from the nine instances of exceeding the standard, the Celestial Venerable's power is unrestricted.
Thus, in the void, the power of complexity continuously poured into the Devil Incense.
The area covered by the Cold Palace Demon Incense is getting wider and wider.
Later, Lin Hui simply released the full extent of his Cold Palace Demon Incense.
Everything within a radius of tens of millions of light-years slowed down instantly, whether it was the world sphere or the wandering debris streaking through the void.
Everything slowed down by 30% at this very moment.
Lin Hui floated at the very center of the invisible Devil Incense, drawing out a wisp of Prosperity Power to merge into it once more.
hiss...
A horrifying situation occurred.
The vast area of Devil Incense was exactly the same as before, perfectly replicated to twice its original size, instantly increasing the range of the Devil Incense by a significant margin.
Lin Hui didn't stop; instead, he continued to inject the power of prosperity.
And so... the Cold Palace Demon Incense kept doubling, doubling, doubling!
And it's not just a basic doubling, but after doubling, it's a new overall size, a single entity, and then doubled again!
Then, a few minutes later...
Countless cultivators within the Clear Jade Mountain area were slowed down, while in the other void on the other side, the other civilizations that were still fighting against the Light Disaster were also slowed down by the Devil Incense.
Even so, Lin Hui did not stop. He chose the Cold Palace Demon Incense because this ability would not cause indiscriminate friendly fire, but simply slow down the opponent. It was perfect for testing the limits.
The invisible Devil Incense expanded wildly, and the power of complexity ceaselessly increased and merged into it.
As time went by, the range of the Devil Incense far exceeded Lin Hui's expectations, not only covering the area around Clear Jade Mountain, but even approaching the farthest point he had previously explored in the void.
This multiplicative expansion was much faster than his previous honest leaping and flying.
Lin Hui didn't know how much time had passed, but he felt tired.
The power emanating from the other side of the complex grid gradually weakened.
He instinctively realized that this was the limit.
The limit of a normal attack is the area covered by the Cold Palace Demon Incense at this moment.
He tried to sense it using his own imprint, but unfortunately... the area covered by the Cold Palace Demon Incense had no end in sight.
If calculated by the number of whiskers, it would be countless billions...
"The void is infinite." Only now did Lin Hui understand the meaning of the words Chongli had told him.
He reopened the Blood Seal, attempting to evolve it once more, specifically targeting the Multiverse.
Unfortunately, we can no longer see the evolutionary branch.
"Whatever reality I may see in the future, at least for now, let me finish what I've set out to do before exploring anything further..."
Lin Hui had come to terms with it; whatever the reality may be, it's all in the future. He should focus on doing his best in the present.
Replacing the Wind Disaster is what he wants to do most right now. Of course, before that, some promises should also be kept.
After putting away the Devil Incense, he had a thought, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared into the void.
When they reappeared, the Heart Source Demon Palace was shrouded in purple mist.
"Oh my, you've arrived!?" Inside the open gates of the Demon Palace, Fusheng danced with joy upon seeing Lin Hui, his mood exceptionally high.
"For so many years, no one has kept this old man company. Your disciples, all they do is cultivate and fight all day long, it's so boring."
"Senior Fusheng, the time has come. I have come to fulfill the promise I made to you." Lin Hui stepped into the Demon Palace, and the entire palace trembled slightly, with cracks and creaking sounds appearing on the walls.
Although Lin Hui's self-control is now more refined, his current realm is simply too high for the Heart Source Demon Palace to bear.
Even a tiny Avatar of it began to sway precariously.
Fusheng looked up and glanced around, feeling somewhat sentimental.
"You're making too much noise right now... What level have you reached?"
"It's better if you don't know, senior. I'm afraid you'll feel inferior if you hear it," Lin Hui joked.
"You little brat..." Fusheng was speechless.
Click.
Suddenly, another crisp sound rang out, and the seat beneath Fusheng exploded, turning into countless purple specks of light that vanished without a trace.
His entire skeletal body remained in its original sitting posture due to inertia, not reacting at all.
With a whoosh, and another crisp sound, the restraints that had been binding his soul within the Demon Palace vanished in an instant.
"Broken?" Fusheng looked down at the empty space where his chair had been.
"It's broken." Lin Hui nodded.
"It's that simple?" Fusheng incredulously.
"Yes, senior, you're free now. What are your thoughts?" Lin Hui asked with a smile.
"... Suddenly, Fusheng fell silent."
He slowly and stiffly stood up, attempting to stand upright for the first time in countless years.
Swish.
At that moment, a blurry figure in a black cloak appeared behind him, silently watching the scene unfold.
"I... am free!"
Each step in Fusheng is taken slowly, with extreme caution and prudence.
However, it did not trigger any formations.
So, he took the second step.
Step 3.
Step 4.
Until he reached the gates of the Demon Palace, just one step away from leaving the demonic cave that had sealed him for countless years.
