The girl was back in that corridor.
She sat in front of the door marked "089," with the puppet beside her.
The girl excitedly told it what she had heard from Karan. She still had no idea who held the key to this room, but she already had a goal. The future Karan had described in just a few words filled her with anticipation.
The puppet showed no reaction.
When the girl finished and turned to ask what it thought, its thoughts finally entered her consciousness.
"If all of this disappears, I'll disappear too." The puppet's thoughts were clear, blending into the girl's mind through her ability.
The girl stared at the puppet in astonishment. Panic seized her as she desperately tried to think of a reasonable explanation. "No! You won't disappear, and neither will Mr. Bear! You're not bad things like that. You're not witches! You're not monsters!"
"Mr. Bear is locked in here. They see us as monsters." The puppet's thoughts were far more mature than the girl's naive notions.
Receiving those thoughts from the girl, I couldn't help falling into contemplation.
If the supernatural didn't exist in this world, then in a sense, all would be at peace.
Some people would survive because of it, and their lives would change.
For instance, the people from Greenleaf: Gu Mo would continue working as a music producer, while Nangong Yao would join his family's Four Seas Wealth and live the life of a rich second-generation heir. Ye Qing and Liu Miao would also spend their lives happily with their families.
But some things that brought warmth and moved people would disappear, too.
Wu Ling would disappear. Her soul had originated from a stillborn baby born hundreds of years ago. Of course, she couldn't exist in the modern world. Even
