The documented levels belong to game characters created during Greenleaf’s investigation, not to the agency or its members. Several separate characters use the same name 102.

Background / History

Ye Qing knew Wu Ling before founding the agency and encountered other practitioners through the supernatural community. He assembled Greenleaf after meeting the other four members; Lin Qi later understood its apparently hurried formation as part of a much longer preparation. Once established, the team systematically accepted clients and developed its abilities through casework. Even Gu Mo, the earliest member to die, had ten years to adapt to this life 1520.

The members’ cooperation began as an exchange: they lent Ye Qing their abilities, while he provided a sanctuary. Shared dangers turned that arrangement into a close bond. Gu Mo compared their dependence on one another to plants with intertwined roots that could not be pulled apart without killing the rest 1518.

Lin Qi discovered the agency while working on the demolition investigation in 2022. Although its office and archives remained, his colleagues could find neither its occupants nor records establishing its existence. The office key stayed with Lin Qi because the police and neighborhood committee were reluctant to take responsibility, drawing him further into Greenleaf’s affairs 8 421 1152.

Limits

• Greenleaf did not locate or eliminate the ghost faces in the Water Ghost Face case and could not determine whether they would return 8.
• Its members’ abilities carry dangerous burdens; Liu Miao explicitly warns that users can be killed by their own powers 1518 1519.
• Ordinary mirrors were not accepted as having the supernatural effects claimed in Huan Guang’s aunt’s request 1740.

Saving the Members

Lin Qi’s rescue of Gu Mo demonstrates that his dreams can affect reality. He subsequently confronts Ye Qing about concealing the circumstances of the other members’ deaths. Ye Qing admits that he does not know how to save them and has already failed before 194 382.

Training and Internal Disagreement

Greenleaf’s members disagree over how Lin Qi should develop his power. Chen Xiaoqiu identifies a divide between those who want him to master it himself and those who place greater trust in Ye Qing’s management. Despite those differences, they continue cooperating and helping Lin Qi 1520 1521.

Exposure and Changing Timelines

Daredevil’s livestreams publicize the abandoned agency and its missing members. Discussion later subsides as other hauntings draw attention and online information is suppressed. In a subsequently altered timeline, Lin Qi learns that Qingye no longer exists 1736 1960.

The Plan to Change the World

Ye Qing’s goals extend beyond reviving his companions to fundamentally changing the world. Learning the extent of Greenleaf’s manipulation breaks the protagonist’s trust in him. Later revelations lead Lin Qi to suspect that the group’s campaign opposes supernatural threats broadly—not only Ghost Kings, but also practitioners whose powers depend on supernatural forces 2046 2047 2083.

• The archive initially contains 107 files. Lin Qi notices that this matches the Exorcist Association’s sealing capacity, but no significance is established 1810.
