That huge pool of blood looked exactly like the scene of a crime, and the method used had been extremely brutal.

Scenes began to flash through my mind. Some were imagined, while others were crime scenes I had seen before.

But when I looked more closely, I realized the pool of blood seemed unnatural, as if someone had deliberately painted it there.

I was still thinking.

Mrs. Winter clutched her head. Her skeletal body creaked, as if all her joints were rubbing against one another. She didn't scream, yet her silence was even more heart-wrenching than the screams outside.

It felt as though an electric current had passed through me. Goosebumps rose all over my body, and I was overcome by an indescribable sorrow.

Something seemed to have appeared in the room.

Mrs. Winter's yin aura had spread throughout the entire house. Something was lurking within it.

My mind went hazy for a moment, and I felt my soul floating upward.

I was about to enter a dream!

My body collapsed. I heard Guo Yujie's distant cries.

As her voice faded, I heard footsteps.

The wooden floor kept groaning. Whoever was making the noise seemed to have brushed against the wall, making the walls of the old wooden house creak too.

I immediately recognized them as Mrs. Winter's.

Mrs. Winter had heard the noise, but not clearly. After all, she was an old woman. If it hadn't been the dead of night, she probably wouldn't even have noticed an intruder in the house.

Mrs. Winter didn't wake up. Her subconscious had only sensed danger.
