The moment the Hart Brothers lost control, Yu Xiao immediately released the pressure the gate was exerting on Cobra.

This was a precious third-generation mech. If he crushed it, where would Xingtian get the parts it needed for upgrades?

"I suggest you come out on your own."

The two brothers had only just climbed back into the cockpit when they saw the holographic message floating inside.

"You son of a bitch, don't even think about it!"

The older brother, Rehn, hurled his helmet straight at the message window!

When had the two brothers ever suffered such a silent loss?

They had always been the ones stealing other people's mechs!

"Then don't blame me for getting rough!" Yu Xiao had never intended to waste time persuading them. He was ready to force them out!

He controlled Cobra to extend its massive hand, tore off the armor plating covering the cockpit in its head, then flicked its fingers at the two brothers!

As for whether the brothers would be flicked to death, that was none of Yu Xiao's concern. Judging by them and Poison Scorpion, they were clearly the sort of ruthless people who killed without batting an eye.

After two screams faded from Xingtian's receiver, the two mechs advanced straight toward the inside of the high wall!

"Stop them!"

Inside the combat command center, an officer in an ornate military uniform shouted into the communicator.

"Shoot both of them?" Many people hesitated to fire at Cobra, piloted by the Hart Brothers. They feared damaging the precious mech and inviting the brothers' retaliation!

"Shoot them both! Cobra isn't our mech anymore!"

That was the intelligence his superior, Poison Scorpion, had just given him.

In an instant, nearly every automated cannon atop the high wall locked onto the two rapidly advancing mechs!

"Fire!"

At the command, dozens of dazzling energy pulses shot from the high wall, raining down on Yu Xiao's two mechs like a meteor shower!

Yu Xiao immediately maneuvered Xingtian behind Cobra and had the latter remove the Black Blood corrosive energy rifle hanging on its back!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Countless beams struck Cobra's anti-energy armor like stones falling into water, sending ripples of shockwaves across its surface!

Yet not a single pulse inflicted any real damage on Cobra!

Cobra's armor had been designed specifically to defend against man-made weapons!

"My turn!"

Yu Xiao eagerly took control of Cobra. To him, the performance of a third-generation mech was practically a cheat code. He had been itching to try it out!

A mass of black energy erupted from Cobra's muzzle like a black sun and slammed directly into the top of the seventy-meter-high wall!

The seemingly impregnable wall was instantly melted through with a massive hole. Black smoke billowed between broken bricks and rubble, while more than a dozen automated cannons that had yet to finish charging were reduced to ashes on the spot!

This was the combat power a mech was supposed to have!

Yu Xiao had not expected the Black Blood rifle's energy corrosion to be this absurd. It could instantly melt even a high wall mixed with inferior titan-strength metal!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Without hesitation, Yu Xiao controlled Cobra to fire three times in succession, the three black energy masses striking the wall's three densest firepoints.

In less than a minute, the high wall's defensive firepower had essentially been wiped out!

"Retreat! Everyone retreat into the underground shelters!" The commander hastily issued his final order, then became the first to flee the command center, abandoning all dignity as he squeezed into the nearest shelter along with the crowd!

"It can only fire four consecutive shots at most."

Cobra removed the enormous chemical canister beneath the barrel, and scorching white smoke drifted from the muzzle.

The ammunition used by the Black Blood corrosive energy rifle was specially made. Its basic principle was to store the chemicals required for the energy mass in a canister, then use the rifle's precise internal structure to create the proper reaction environment. Combined with the high pressure and temperature inside the chamber, it could fire an energy mass capable of instantly melting its target!

However, the rifle's drawbacks were equally obvious. First, after replacing the storage canister, the rifle required a full thirty seconds of reaction preparation before it could fire again.

Second, Cobra's waist-level ammunition bay could hold at most four storage canisters at a time. Compared to other mechs, that amount of ammunition was practically nothing.

But against the resistance Yu Xiao currently faced, four shots were more than enough.

The two mechs passed through the hole in the high wall one after the other and headed straight for the tower where Bai Ying was!

"Stop!"

When Xingtian's enormous crimson eye shone into the reception hall on the tower's top floor, Uncle Gao truly realized for the first time that he had miscalculated.

Xingtian tore off the tower's roof in one motion and tossed the helicopter landing pad in its hand aside as if it were garbage.

Only a handful of people chose to use the powerful mobility of their exoskeletons to flee directly down the outer wall of the tower the moment they saw the cannons rise!

In just a few seconds, the lavish reception hall had been reduced to a wreck by the hail of bullets!

Frightened out of his wits, Uncle Gao had thrown away his gun and dropped to the ground at the first opportunity.

Now, he stared at Bai Ying as she walked toward him as though she were a madwoman.
