Background / History

Yu Xiao was originally an ordinary human from another planet who transmigrated into the retired legendary first-generation mecha Xing Tian. He awakened while the fifty-meter machine was in low-power hibernation and faced imminent dismantling, as well as being assigned to Bai Ying, a pilot whose aggressive training style pushed Xing Tian beyond its limits. 1

His awakening coincided with the activation of the Evolution System. The system converted Xing Tian’s past victories into Evolution Points and gave Yu Xiao a route to evolve his body, acquire equipment, develop a machine soul, and eventually obtain a biological form. 2

Early neural synchronization with Bai Ying exposed him to her hostility toward Xing Tian and inflicted phantom pain on him. During a severe “Chasing Little Rabbit” episode, Yu Xiao nearly lost himself to negative emotions before accepting his altered existence and trusting Bai Ying to reconnect him to his body within a ten-second window. 11 12

Yu Xiao gradually expanded Xing Tian beyond a conventional mecha. He absorbed a damaged machine spirit, controlled multiple mechas at once, fused Cobra and Scorpion into Xing Tian, and later used the Skeleton evolution to make his body a self-repairing lifeform rather than an artificial machine. 24 34 83 166

During the final stages of the war, Yu Xiao sacrificed his body to activate the Dark Energy Pulse Floating Cannons against a beast tide. His consciousness endured, eventually returning to Earth through a container launched from Eden, a Star Ring Alliance unmanned space station. 190 191

After being revived by Omega, Yu Xiao learned that Yuan Zhen considered him a natural machine soul rather than an artificial product. The Black Angel subsequently revealed his identity as an Ancient One; with that knowledge, Yu Xiao helped avert humanity’s destruction and bring the monster war to an end. 207 221 222

Appearance

In Xing Tian form, Yu Xiao began as a battle-scarred first-generation nuclear-powered mecha standing fifty meters tall and weighing 8,000 tons. After the Skeleton evolution, his chassis became an organic-looking, muscular humanoid body of dark material rather than a conventional mechanical frame. 1 2 83 118

Yu Xiao is practical, cautious, and highly adaptive under pressure. He routinely evaluates an enemy’s armor, movement, energy, and numerical advantage before committing to a plan, favoring hacking, stalling, coordinated attacks, or equipment changes when direct combat is unfavorable. 20 26 167

Despite initially resenting Bai Ying’s reckless piloting, he becomes protective of her and increasingly values mutual trust. He forgives her past treatment of Xing Tian, supports her during combat, and later helps her confront the pressure she feels about her future. 11 26 217

He strongly rejects being treated as disposable equipment or a research specimen. His public insistence that he is Xing Tian is a deliberate attempt to secure recognition as a lifeform while concealing the full truth of his human-origin consciousness from Omega. 46
