Robbie's face darkened. Without a word, he grabbed one in each hand and got into the car.

He did not even need to start it. The car roared to life directly. An experienced driver indeed.

Flames began to rise from the wheels.

Lucy glanced at Old Wang, looking pitiful and delicate. That gaze, that expression—ghostly and eerie.

Old Wang gave her a look. Figure it out yourself.

Lucy understood.

With a wave of her hand, the Four Ghost Group followed behind with sinister grins.

Inside the Heart of Azeroth, Azeroth Miss hurriedly covered her eyes, then secretly left a crack between her fingers.

Then she suddenly remembered that Old Wang had not come in. Relieved, she lowered her hands and quietly muttered, "Study hard and make progress every day."

What followed was a scene unsuitable for children.

Because they were quite far away, even with Old Wang's sharp hearing, he could only make out fragments.

Things like "I'm your uncle," "for all humanity," "Lucy, listen to me," and "I was actually planning to bring you all back once this was over." A whole pile of explanations, completely useless.

Robbie had spent years struggling in society and had even died once. He was not so easily fooled.

Lucy and the others were even more hardened. There was no way they would forgive Eli.

Some wanted to vent, some wanted to explain, and some wanted to beg, but the final outcome had long been inevitable. Old Wang had plenty of experience and already knew it.

Ten minutes later, Robbie returned.

The bald man from the Fifth Street Gang was gone. Eli had woken up too—beaten awake.

His face was swollen and bruised, with hardly an uninjured spot on his body. His eye sockets were black, his lips purple, and his face covered in blood and burn marks. He was on the verge of disfigurement. His legs were clamped tightly together, and it was unclear whether his happiness for the rest of his life could still be guaranteed.

But his arms and legs were intact, and he was still alive.

"Settled?" Old Wang looked him over from top to bottom, quite satisfied.

Lucy had been generous enough.

"Settled," Robbie answered dully, in low spirits.

Old Wang looked at Eli again. "How did the talk go, chief engineer?"

"So it was all fake. There's no creating matter from nothing, no God—more like the Devil..."

Eli rubbed his blackened eye. Looking at this Chinese youth with a gentle smile, he suddenly felt cold all over, as though he had taken a trip through Hell. His pants nearly got wet. He forced a smile onto his face. "Robbie knows that I'm actually a good person. I've always obeyed the law. It was all the Darkhold's fault..."

He looked toward Robbie as if begging for help.

Robbie expressionlessly shifted his gaze away. I can't see it. I can't see it. Do whatever you want.

Lucy and the Four Ghost Group surrounded him, fury written all over their faces.

"Fine, fine, I was wrong, I was wrong! I'll help you build the Quantum Generator and help you become human again. I don't want to die! Once it's done, you have to let me go!" Eli hurriedly raised both hands in surrender, admitting defeat.

Old Wang neither confirmed nor denied it.

The Darkhold really was to blame.

The Darkhold could tempt and amplify the filth and evil in one's heart, but first, there had to be filth and evil in that heart.

Of course, ninety-nine percent of people had it. All he could say was that Eli had been unlucky enough to get caught up in it.

I'll let you go, but will the others? That's none of my business.

I'm not your parent. How you settle things among yourselves has nothing to do with me.

The night was deep.

Roxxon Power Plant lay in darkness.

It had shut down not long ago for certain reasons, leaving only a few security guards behind.

Old Wang dealt with the guards using physical hypnosis, then strolled inside.

Following Lucy's directions, he quickly found the materials they needed.

Everything was ready-made. They had the battery, and only needed to build the Quantum Generator. It did not even need to be particularly good; a single-use model would do. Appearance was not important, only what was inside.

Eli knew the process well. With Robbie, Lucy, and the others helping him, it would not take long at all.

Unfortunately, they could not take it away.

The battery box was not a real storage battery, but more like an adapter. It needed power, and an enormous supply of it at that. Nowhere else could provide it—not even high-voltage electricity. The best option was to restart the power plant.

Eli truly was a professional engineer and knew many things.

Time passed second by second.

Suddenly, Old Wang's ear twitched.

He heard faint footsteps.

"The guests are here."

Old Wang smiled, took out some Well of Eternity Water for mixing drinks, and took a small sip. As Azeroth's primal energy continuously nourished his body, it felt as though he had been infused with Azeroth Miss's essence. He forcibly endured the vigorous, flourishing sensation of all things growing, then turned to Skye. "See which side they're from. S.H.I.E.L.D. or Hydra?"

Roxxon Power Plant had a surveillance system.

Once it restarted and power was restored, Skye immediately hacked into the surveillance network and quickly found a fleeting image.

"S.H.I.E.L.D." Skye enlarged it, revealing the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on the newcomers' clothes.

It had only flashed by because the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents discovered the cameras immediately and shot them apart.

"Not bad professional awareness."

Old Wang praised them, flexed his hands, and said with a smile, "S.H.I.E.L.D. has arrived. Can Hydra be far behind?"

The moment he finished speaking, dense gunfire rang out.

Skye hurriedly pulled up footage from the relevant location.

A burly man in a black-and-gray uniform strode forward. His face was covered, his hair loose and disheveled, and his eyes cold. In his hands was an obviously badass grenade launcher.

Then he raised the grenade launcher.

Boom!

A grenade exploded among the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

With a deafening blast, they suffered heavy casualties.

The masked brute tossed aside the grenade launcher and picked up an equally badass submachine gun.

Rat-a-tat-tat!

A burst of gunfire rang out, accompanied by brief muffled groans. A S.H.I.E.L.D. special operations team was wiped out.

Someone returned fire.

The bullets hit the masked brute, but had no effect whatsoever.

Tiny bullet holes appeared in his uniform, yet not a drop of blood spilled.

His left sleeve had torn open, exposing a polished, gleaming silver arm.

A mechanical arm made of some unknown material, brimming with high-tech sophistication.

Old Wang froze.

Then froze again.

What the hell?

This was the fucking Winter Soldier!

Pierce had actually sent the Winter Soldier?

If he remembered correctly, the Winter Soldier's next appearance should have been against Egghead. It had happened early.

Old Wang suddenly felt a little excited.

After eighteen years in this world, this was the first time he had encountered someone qualified to be an opponent. Seeing prey, his fighting spirit rose.

Captain America had yet to be thawed.

Iron Man had yet to be kidnapped.

Hulk was still hiding in Brazil or Canada.

Thor had yet to descend to Earth.

The first Ant-Man had broken with S.H.I.E.L.D. more than a decade ago.

Captain Marvel was somewhere God knew where.

Who in S.H.I.E.L.D. could stop the Winter Soldier?

Hydra was ruthless. They intended to wipe out every S.H.I.E.L.D. agent sent here!

Wait...

It seemed S.H.I.E.L.D. was only incidental. The Darkhold was the real target?

"You stay here. Robbie, protect them. I'm going to meet the Winter Soldier!"

Old Wang's hands itched. He wanted to test himself against the Winter Soldier and, while he was at it, save certain S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Coulson was a good man and not one of Hydra's people. If Old Wang had to deal with S.H.I.E.L.D. in the future, it would be best to go through him. The others were either unreliable or too hardline. Old Wang liked soft ones; only women liked hard ones.

Black Widow was so beautiful. If he could save her, he would... Old Wang did not want to be a simp. He preferred Chinese mixed-race women, or simply Chinese women, rather than blonde bombshells. There was no need for too much flesh, since Old Wang already had enough flesh himself.

Besides, Black Widow seemed to have had a few too many romantic entanglements...

But beauty was beauty. She was pleasing to look at, and without Black Widow, the Marvel storyline would ultimately lose some of its fun.

Without her, who would soothe Hulk's young, fragile heart?

"Robbie, don't let your uncle mess around. Otherwise, you mess around too. Let's see who can out-mess whom," Old Wang added.

"Mm." Robbie nodded heavily.

He gripped the chain and followed Eli, never leaving his side.

Old Wang was reassured.

Even if Eli tried something, sending everyone into the cracks between dimensions, Ghost Rider could still destroy him.

Having witnessed Ghost Rider's terror, Eli probably would not dare.

The gunfire continued.

There were even small-scale explosions and sounds of collapse.

Barehanded and with his face covered, Old Wang ran toward the Winter Soldier.

The wind blew past him from both sides.

Gently brushing against Skye's face.
