Background

The Demon Race is distinct from the broader category of “demons.” It is described as one type of demon and comparatively low-ranking in that broader classification; only members possessing the True Demon Bloodline are treated as true demons in the stricter sense. Blade Demon Soldiers possess a scarce amount of this bloodline. 655

It is one of the Ancient Sacred Domain’s major races, competing with the Human Race, Monster Race, and countless other peoples for limited territory and cultivation resources. These conflicts form part of the recurring Ten Thousand Races Hegemony, an era of large-scale warfare that occurs every hundred thousand years. 918

The race is not portrayed as politically uniform. Its clans compete for wealth, battlefield authority, talented members, and valuable artifacts; after the Blade Demon Clan’s decline, rival demon factions sought to displace it from regional leadership. 1002 1029

Cultivation and military ranks

True Demon Race members generally reach the Middle Three Ranks upon adulthood and can cultivate further without the innate limitations associated with lesser Demon Soldiers. Royal clans and factional power

The Xue Family Royal Clan, Leng Family Royal Clan, and Blood Family Royal Clan are identified as the Demon Race’s three great royal clans. The Xue Family pushed for mass participation in the Human–Demon Grand Competition after the death of its Sovereign, Xue Kuang. 1112 1113

The Blood and Leng royal clans competed to recruit a mutated Blade Demon Race member after his exceptional performance in the competition. The Blood Family ultimately secured him and took him into its sacred land for further cultivation. 1113

Demon Transformation Pool

The Demon Transformation Pool is a rare bloodline-baptism resource. Its energy normally requires hundreds or thousands of years to accumulate, and successful entrants can strengthen their bloodlines to a level second only to the three great imperial families; exceptional beneficiaries may rival direct descendants of those families. 1134

True Demon Bloodline

True Demon Bloodline is extraordinarily valuable within Demon Race-related bloodline systems. A Demon Race woman became intensely interested in Qin Shaofeng after sensing his faint but pure True Demon aura, believing his unawakened bloodline could be of use to her. 901 902

The transformation of Blade Demon Soldier Xiang Chengfeng through a Super Demon Chess Piece fully stimulated his limited True Demon Bloodline, evolving him into the Blade Demon Race. This state is described as part of the so-called Divine Demon Race, whose attributes exceeded the analysis ability of Qin Shaofeng’s Fiery Golden Eyes. 655

Blade Demon Clan and Blade Demon Soldiers

The Blade Demon Clan is considered among the lowest-ranked demon races, yet it can produce unusual and dangerous variants. Its ancestor was infamous for killing an Emperor Realm expert while still a World King and remained a feared figure for three thousand years before Yan Yang killed him. 1026 1112

Blade Demon Soldiers are exceptionally rare special existences whose potential can surpass Demon Race royalty. Their spiritual root, the Blade Demon Spirit, is a peak Saint-grade spiritual root. 643 644

A Blade Demon Soldier resembles a humanoid encased in a dark exoskeleton rather than conventional armor. Its arms bear serrated blade plates, its elbows extend into scimitar-like bones, its fingers are blade-like, and its black wings resemble enormous swords. 645

Source Crystal Space invasion

The Demon Race occupied the external entrance to the Source Crystal Space and sent more than 1,200 combatants through a light-hole passage. Saint King experts transformed the entrance into a stable spatial passage, after which the army pursued fleeing human cultivators and carried out a one-sided slaughter. 739 740

Battlefield conflict with Yan Yang

During the Human–Demon battlefield campaigns, Yan Yang repeatedly hunted Demon Race teams, defeated Great World Lord peaks with his fists, killed numerous World King and Nirvana Realm combatants, and became a major target of Demon Race factions. 981 982 1082

After Yan Yang killed the Blade Demon Clan’s ancestor, the Demon Race raised his bounty to fifty billion military merit points. The Blade Demon Clan further spread claims regarding his wealth, intending to draw other demons into pursuing him. 1026

Fall of the Sovereigns

Demon Race Sovereign Xue Kuang was killed during the Ten Thousand Races Hegemony, and another Demon Race Sovereign’s corpse subsequently fell onto the battlefield. The loss shattered Demon Race morale, disrupted cooperation between its teams, and accelerated the end of the conflict in several domains. 1090 1104

Human–Demon Grand Competition

After the domain war ended in a draw, the Demon Race proposed a competition involving the World Lord, Great World Lord, World King, Emperor, and Nirvana Realms rather than further Sovereign-level warfare. 1105

A mutated Blade Demon Race contestant became the Demon Race’s early standout. Beginning as a sixth-level World Lord, he killed opponents above his realm, devoured their Inner Worlds, advanced to the Great World Lord Realm, and accumulated eighty points before joining the Blood Family Royal Clan. He could survive as only a head, self-destruct his body, then regenerate by devouring a victim’s body and Inner World. 1112 1113

The Demon Race later relied heavily on Mechanical Race technology and coordinated mechanical-puppet self-destructions to recover points.
