The trees here were noticeably sparser. In their place stretched vast swathes of colorful clouds, as though the team had stepped into a paradise on earth.
But this was no paradise. The colorful clouds on the ground were the leaves of Rainbow Cloud Grass.
Whenever a breeze blew through, the sea of color rose and fell like surging waves. It was a magnificent sight.
The lead wizard studied the surrounding vegetation. Compared with three years ago, something about this area seemed to have changed.
He frowned. "The Rainbow Cloud Grass is growing well here. Unfortunately, Two-Headed Demon Cows have taken over, and there are quite a few of them."
Dozens of Two-Headed Demon Cows occupied the area. With their two heads, they could cast different spells at the same time. Their scales were highly resistant to magic, making them far more troublesome than the Lantern Demon Ape troop the team had encountered earlier.
The Two-Headed Demon Cows amid the colorful clouds noticed the Exploration Team and began to stir uneasily.
Before long, they grew impatient with the team watching them.
"Moo—" A huge Two-Headed Demon Cow, the herd's leader, let out a warning call. Both of its mouths breathed visible clouds of cold air, and even the surrounding temperature seemed to drop.
"Let's go. These Two-Headed Demon Cows won't be easy to deal with. Taking them on by force could cost us lives. We'll look for the next growing area." With a wave of his hand, the lead wizard led the team onward.
