Lin Zhiyan was born frail and sickly, with congenital deficiencies that ordinary physicians could not cure. Her grandfather gave her the Lin Family’s Silkworm Skill in hopes of remedying her condition, then departed in search of a suitable follow-up technique when she was ten and never returned. 286
As the Lin Family’s Young Miss, she initially observed Li Bufan’s diligence from a distance.
