That night, Lein casually swept his divine sense over the cage, then found he couldn't look away.
At the center of his vision stood a petite, beautiful young woman.
She had two long black ponytails and wore a tight, backless dress with a daringly short hem. The neckline was cut into a wide, many-sided leaf shape, too. Most strikingly, a blue ribbon was tied horizontally around her waist, just below her ribs, making her impressive front armor look even more prominent.
"This..." Lein's breathing quickened.
If not for her face being the same as before, Lein wouldn't have recognized her as Hestia.
That morning, she had still looked like a dignified, elegant, mature goddess, with her hair pinned high at the back of her head. Paired with her classical Greek robes and hairpins, she'd radiated a noble, untouchable divinity. That was nothing like her current, anime-inspired look.
If she were a human woman, Lein would have spat at her and cursed, "Why is an old hag putting on airs?"
But a true goddess, with an eternal shelf life, was another matter.
Now, Lein had to critique her in person.
The door to the side hall opened.
No Nymph Goddess or God's attendant came out to greet him. In the spacious hall, Hestia was the only one there, reclining sideways on a red velvet chaise, propping her cheek on one hand as she watched him with an amused, knowing smile.
Lein wasn't surprised.
He walked over and stopped in front of Hestia, then asked curiously, "I'm wondering, how did you make this decision so quickly?"
Hestia tilted her head up to look at Lein. Her dark eyes held a complicated gleam. "What else could I do? Zeus has his decisions, and I have my fate. No king can give up his
