Background and Territory

The sect was founded at a site chosen for its terrain and flow of qi rather than for an underground Spirit Vein. Three peaks face one another amid surrounding mountain ranges, forming a terrain suited to receiving starlight and supporting the sect's star-based cultivation. 86

Star River County takes its name from the sect. The imperial court granted the county and a large surrounding area to the sect, allowing it to exercise supreme authority there; the territory is described as a “country within a country.” 26

The sect's mountains and buildings stand within a grand formation that concentrates spiritual energy. Its internal territory is notably more cultivation-oriented than surrounding towns, with martial artists, weapon shops, medicinal-material shops, armor merchants, and businesses serving cultivators. 26 28

Status is strongly tied to strength. After the Crimson Spirit Sect campaign, Fang Hong and Zhao Tianchen were seated beside Zhong Wanyang in the main hall, with no elder objecting to their equal standing because of their power and contributions. 85

Recruitment and Cultivation

Admission

The sect has three known admission routes: 27

1. Large-scale recruitment examinations held every one or two years.
2. Recommendation by a sect member encountered outside the sect.
3. Entry through background, connections, or a sect token.

Zhou Chengyuan's token, originally gifted by Outer Elder Xu Wenfei, allowed an applicant with adequate bone quality to enter directly. Fang Hong used this route to approach the sect. 15 19

Sect Formation and Star Pool

• The sect-protecting formation both defends the mountain gate and gathers dense spiritual energy for cultivation. 28 79
• The Star Pool lies at the formation's core, between Blazing Sun Peak, Bright Moon Peak, and Myriad Star Peak. It is a restricted sacred site guarded by a Heaven Realm elder under normal circumstances. 72
• High-ranking disciples may receive a Star Pool baptism according to their results in the Sect Grand Competition. Fighting and damage to the pool are forbidden. 72
• Fang Hong used the Star Pool to cultivate the Star Body Forging Treasure Art, achieving the Myriad Stars Body and entering the Body Heaven Realm. 72 76

Formation Arts

Myriad Star Peak's formation arts are among the sect's defining strengths. Its Heavenly Star Array Formation has a reputation beyond the sect itself. 43

After reaching the Immortal Realm, Fang Hong began creating the Grand Formation of the Stars for the sect, drawing on his own knowledge and insights into formations. 246

• Fang Hong's admission — Fang Hong seeks the sect because it is nearer and appears more righteous than the Crimson Spirit Sect, despite being similarly domineering. He receives Zhou Chengyuan's token, is tested by Elder Huang, and is offered direct inner-disciple status. 15 19 28
• Myriad Star Peak succession — Zhao Tianchen accepts Fang Hong as a closed-door disciple and offers him the Star Body Forging Treasure Art, a method intended to bypass the Earth Realm and reach the Heaven Realm through physique cultivation. 30 33
