Background
Fang Hong set out from East Mountain Village carrying the worn blade and bloodstained bow left by his father, Fang Datou. After his parents’ deaths, he resolved to enter a Martial Dao Sect, become strong enough to survive in a brutal world, and avenge his family. 2
He trained in the eastern mountains, rapidly reached Flesh Refinement Mastery, and changed from a peace-minded transmigrator into a more decisive survivor. He eventually killed Deng Changliu, completing his revenge, and acquired the Iron Leg Skill and Great Falling Monument Hand from him. 3 8
Before entering a sect, Fang Hong deliberately collected and cultivated a wide range of techniques. His goal was to eliminate every exploitable weakness—mobility, weapon arts, long-range offense, body tempering, and soul-related defenses—rather than rely on raw strength alone. 13 14 20
He arrived at the Star River Sect after his Bone Refinement cultivation had already granted him physical strength far beyond his visible realm. His extraordinary performance earned him direct admission as an Inner Disciple and formal acceptance as Zhao Tianchen’s personal disciple. 26 32 34
Appearance
Fang Hong is a tall, straight-backed young man with a lean but powerful build. His appearance becomes increasingly refined and imposing as his body-refinement cultivation advances. 20 26 58
- Sharp eyebrows, bright eyes, and a handsome face with a defined jawline. 58
- Usually has an upright, steady bearing likened to a coiled dragon or crouching tiger. 58
- Bears a dark-red vertical pupil line on his brow after beginning cultivation of the Extinction Eye. 61
- His perfected Myriad Stars Body is marked by starlight patterns and Star Maps across warm-jade-like skin. 76
- His body-refinement techniques can enlarge and deform his hands into massive, dark, claw-like weapons when fully activated. 11
- His Triple Martial Body and Xuanwu Divine Runes give off tremendous heat, vital-energy flames, and a powerful indestructible aura. 232
Personality
Fang Hong is intensely goal-oriented. He prioritizes cultivation, survival, and long-term strength over comfort, reputation, or romance, repeatedly choosing to deepen his foundation instead of resting on his achievements. 13 92 250
He is polite toward elders and allies, even when his status exceeds theirs, but he does not tolerate threats or humiliation. When an opponent attacks him or becomes a future danger, Fang Hong favors decisive extermination over mercy or prolonged revenge. 100 145 220 301
Despite his ruthlessness, he is calculating rather than reckless. He uses negotiations, feigned loyalty, sect politics, and his reputation as tools to secure resources or remove obstacles. His frequent claims of being “kind” and “easygoing” are treated with disbelief even by Zhao Tianchen. 165 200 201 223
Pursuit of Perfection
Fang Hong considers a weakness a fatal flaw. He systematically acquires, creates, and perfects techniques to become an all-round combatant rather than a specialist. 13 57 99
Ruthlessness
He regards enemies as problems to be permanently removed. This outlook leads him to kill Lu Miyuan, destroy the Lord of the Netherworld Path’s dispersed soul lights, and eliminate three rival Dao Children during the Star Lord Trial. 175 221 301 305
Cunning and Humor
Fang Hong often adopts exaggeratedly respectful language while bargaining, provoking enemies, or dealing with the Origin Realm Consciousness. His “loyalty” declarations are a recurring source of exasperation for the latter. 189 239 288
