Background

Tang Hao killed Martial Soul Hall Pope Qian Xunji in a conflict involving his hundred-thousand-year Soul Beast wife, Ah Yin. His breakthrough during the battle fatally wounded Qian Xunji, whose death triggered Martial Soul Hall's campaign against the Clear Sky Sect 1 2.

Rather than face the consequences with his sect, Tang Hao disappeared into seclusion. The Clear Sky Sect was left to submit to Martial Soul Hall's demands, surrendering wealth and soul bones, sealing its mountain for ten years, and sending Tang Yuehua as a hostage; the sect's elders and disciples increasingly blamed Tang Hao for abandoning them 8 11 12.

He later lived in Blue Lun Village with his son Tang San. Despite being a Titled Douluo, he allowed Tang San to grow up in deprivation and remained despondent, avoiding action against Martial Soul Hall 40 57. Tang San's revelation that he possessed Twin Martial Souls rekindled Tang Hao's hopes of eventual revenge 59.

Personality

Tang Hao is driven by resentment toward Martial Soul Hall and the loss of Ah Yin, but repeatedly chooses concealment and inaction when confronted with overwhelming danger. He remains hidden while the Clear Sky Sect bears the punishment for Qian Xunji's death, then flees Blue Lun Village once Spirit Hall may have identified Tang San 8 11 73 74.

He places great hope in Tang San's potential as a twin martial soul wielder, seeing his son as the foundation for future revenge. When Pei An offers Ah Yin's survival in exchange for Tang San's location, Tang Hao refuses, choosing Tang San over his wife 59 96 100.

Tang Hao is also overconfident in his assessment of Pei An and Spirit Hall. He dismisses reports of Pei An's strength and believes an alliance with the Star Luo Empire could restore the Clear Sky Sect's position, despite the sect's prior defeat and internal division 96.

Life in Hiding with Tang San

Tang Hao hides in Blue Lun Village and raises Tang San in poverty and neglect. After Tang San's awakening reveals Blue Silver Grass, Innate Full Soul Power, and Twin Martial Souls, Tang Hao concludes that Spirit Hall may discover their identities and relocates his son to a distant academy 57 59 61 73 74.

Return to the Clear Sky Sect

After discovering that Ah Yin has disappeared from her hiding place, Tang Hao returns to the Clear Sky Sect. He proposes an alliance with the Star Luo Empire against Spirit Hall and regards Tang San as the sect's future means of revenge 96.

His plan divides the sect. He dismisses concerns for Tang Yuehua, while several elders who have already submitted to Spirit Hall oppose reopening hostilities 95 96.

Final Battle and Death

Pei An arrives at the Clear Sky Sect and demands Tang Hao's atonement for Qian Xunji's death. Tang Hao and Tang Xiao choose resistance, but Spirit Hall's six Titled Douluo—including the defected Third Elder—hold a decisive advantage 97.

After the Clear Sky Sect's defeat, Pei An forces Tang Hao to his knees and reveals that Ah Yin is in Spirit Hall's possession. Tang Hao refuses to reveal Tang San's location, then uses Exploding Ring in a last attempt to survive. Pei An kills him with the Sword of the Living Judgement and takes the soul bones from his corpse 100 101.
