Background / History
Tang Qian married Little Nannan's elder sister before abandoning her. Nannan's family was later massacred and her sister's soul erased; Wang Mu identified Tang Qian—then operating as Chen Shimei within the Langya Merchant Association—as the man tied to her sister's past and chose to support Nannan's revenge. 17
By the time he became a leading figure in the Penglai Merchant Association, Tang Qian was married to Qiu Shan Yue. He privately arranged for the Shadow Sect to assassinate Nannan after learning she was staying with Wang Mu in the Great Liang Royal Palace, but balked at the sect's price. 27
Appearance

- Uses a Demon Ape puppet while transformed. 220
- Retained a Life-Bound Seed, allowing him to survive the destruction of his body once. 220
Personality
Tang Qian is calculating, ambitious, and intensely competitive with Wang Mu. He repeatedly attempts to obstruct Wang Mu's commercial plans, whether by outbidding him for Secret Realm intelligence or responding to Tianwen Communication Talismans with recalls, upgrades, and imitation forum software. 61 112 124
His pride makes him highly reactive to public humiliation. He argues with forum users, attempts to redirect public attention by discrediting Lin Yan, and is enraged when his own talisman exposes his private use of Xianliao while he is criticizing Langya products. 123 149 171
Despite his ruthlessness, Tang Qian reveals insecurity and a desire to be understood in his conversations with “Liufang Fairy.” Believing her to be a sympathetic immortal maiden, he confides his resentment toward Qiu Shan Yue and eventually places complete trust in her—unaware that the account is operated by Li Yuanhua under Wang Mu's direction. 120 121 218

Story Role / Major Arcs
Rivalry with Wang Mu
Tang Qian becomes one of Wang Mu's most persistent commercial opponents. He tries to deprive Wang Mu of Secret Realm information by offering higher prices, recognizes the threat posed by Langya's Communication Talismans, and leads Penglai's efforts to copy or counter Tianwen's products. 61 111 112
His efforts consistently fail to match Wang Mu's information network and public influence. Tang Qian's hypocrisy is exposed when Xianliao notifications interrupt his lecture against using Langya talismans, while public posts detailing the Three Great Merchant Associations' misdeeds ruin his Xiaju Ceremony and prevent him from defending himself online. 123 149
Manipulation through Liufang Fairy
After Tang Qian uses Xianliao, Wang Mu locates him through Tianwen Communication Talismans and has Li Yuanhua contact him as the fabricated “Liufang Fairy.” 120
Tang Qian confides in the account about his unhappiness with Qiu Shan Yue and his aspiration to become the “Deceased Wife Great Emperor.” The false Liufang encourages his ruthless ambitions, and Tang Qian later relies on her guidance while evading the bounty placed on him. 121 124 215 218
Betrayal, Flight, and Death
As the Three Great Merchant Associations seek to appease Wang Mu, Tang Qian is pressured to apologize for the sake of Penglai. Rather than submit, he kills Qiu Shan Yue with Demon Poison, steals the Nine Phoenix Crimson Gauze, and escapes, prompting Qiu Shanhong and Taishutong to issue a massive bounty for him. 212 214
While fleeing, Tang Qian seeks the power of a Sacred Ground-level force to pursue revenge. Wang Mu eventually lures him into a trap tied to Tang Qian's resentment over his mother's death. Tang Qian survives Li Yuanhua's attack and fights in Demon Race form, but Luo Xuanshuang kills him with one sword strike. His remaining Life-Bound Seed is then destroyed by Little Nannan, ending his life permanently. 215 218 220
