Background / History

Little Nannan was born into a fishing family on a remote island, where she lived with her parents and older sister. Her sister rescued the severely wounded Tang Qian from the shore, cared for him, married him, and became pregnant. When Tang Qian returned after leaving to seek immortality, Nannan's family was massacred; her sister was decapitated, and the victims' souls were extracted and erased. Nannan alone escaped. 17

At ten years old, she appeared at Wang Mu's Ascension Convention as a dirt-covered, hungry orphan. Her Spiritual Root tested as Inferior Water, but Wang Mu recognized her dormant Enlightenment Immortal Heart and flourishing luck. He fed her, arranged for her care, and began investing resources in her cultivation. 15

Nannan initially lacked confidence that she could avenge her family because of her poor aptitude. Wang Mu encouraged her to pursue Tang Qian, then used Enlightenment Tea to awaken her Enlightenment Immortal Heart. 17 18 Dissatisfied with cultivation methods limited by aptitude, she decided to create one of her own; after studying vast numbers of manuals, she created the Duo Tian Zao Hua Gong. 23 38

She eventually killed Tang Qian and used the Heaven-Seizing Creation Technique to devour and refine his origin, ending the man responsible for her family's destruction. Afterwards, she openly expressed her wish to remain with Wang Mu. 221
