• Xi Yan battled Gunko and Saint Gilm’s Nightmare Creatures, freed slaves, and discovered that his attacks could prevent the creatures from reviving.
• Xi Yan and his clones suppressed Saint Gilm and sealed Gunko, but Saint Shamrock and Borsalino repeatedly killed Xi Yan as he fought his way out of Mary Geoise.

After defeating the Marines and Pacifistas, the Straw Hats escaped aboard the Thousand Sunny, where Merry's wind powers and Sanji's unexpected reunion with the okama left them poised to depart.

The Straw Hat Pirates reached Fish-Man Island, where a prophecy and false accusations set them against Ryugu Kingdom while Vander Decken targeted Shirahoshi. Jinbe recounted the island’s history and confessed his role in Arlong’s release, leaving him kneeling before Nami as Hody’s planned attack loomed.

• Merry helped a girl deliver a letter to Nami as the Straw Hat Pirates escaped the Marines and dove beneath the sea.
• Smoker exposed corrupt Marines, was assigned to the G5 Branch, and learned that Xi Yan had joined the crew, and Ace and Sabo reunited with Dadan in Windmill Village.
• Xi Yan and the crew crossed the deep sea, defeated the Kraken, and reached Fish-Man Island after fighting off Hamon and the New Fish-Man Pirates.
