Background

Mu Qingxue is the daughter of the Mu Family’s current head and was bound to Nangong Yan by a marriage contract arranged before her birth. The agreement originated when a Nangong Family ancestor saved her gravely injured ancestor; the Mu Family later sought the contract to secure the family’s position in the Eastern Wasteland Domain. Mu Qingxue regards herself as having been treated as a pawn for her family’s interests. 11

She entered Eastern Xuan Academy, where her Heaven Tier, lower-grade bloodline drew respect during the enrollment ceremony. Xuanyuan Che immediately identified her as possessing a Guixu Sword Body; his presence caused her Wuchen Sword to partially unsheathe and left its Sword Spirit fearful. 3

At the academy, Mu Qingxue became a disciple of Ling Shuanghua, the Frost Sword Master and one of Eastern Xuan Academy’s four Supreme Elders. 8

Nangong Family Marriage Contract

Nangong Yan arrived at Eastern Xuan Academy to enforce Mu Qingxue’s betrothal contract through a duel. The contract’s Blood Jade suppressed her sword intent, but Xuanyuan Che intervened, sealed its power, and triggered the awakening of her Guixu Sword Intent. 7

Mu Qingxue later revealed the contract’s history to Xuanyuan Che. He determined that the Nangong Family sought to exploit her Guixu Sword Body and Sword Heart for the Sword Devouring Gu, then destroyed the seal on her Betrothal Jade Pendant. 11 14

Mu Qingxue joined Xuanyuan Che, Yun Mengyao, and Thunder Roar Ravine on an expedition into the Myriad Races Battlefield. Her Guixu Sword Intent served as the group’s precise offensive force, while her Sword Domain helped defend the team against a Saint Corpse’s death qi. 25 28
