Background / History

Lu Xuanchen serves as the Academy Lord of Eastern Xuan Academy and oversees Xuanqing Peak. Before Xuanyuan Che's arrival, he had already accepted four closed-door disciples: Jun Moxie, Yun Mengyao, Shi Zhuang, and Liu Ruyan. 4 5

After the Spirit Testing Stele exploded twice during Xuanyuan Che's enrollment, Lu personally tested him with Spirit Ascension Liquid. Although the liquid produced no reaction, Lu concluded that Xuanyuan Che possessed exceptional potential—possibly beyond the Divine Tier—and accepted him as a personal disciple. He also warned Che to conceal his cultivation and bloodline from covetous outsiders. 4

Three hundred years before the main story, Lu had ties to the Sword Pavilion. After the Nangong Family destroyed the sect to refine the Supreme Devouring Gu, he secretly investigated and sought vengeance, but could not act against the family and its Xiao Family backers alone. He later allowed Nangong Huo to leave Eastern Xuan Academy in order to draw out the Xiao Family's larger scheme. 14

During the Myriad Races Battlefield competition, Lu led Eastern Xuan Academy's delegation and watched Xuanyuan Che's actions draw the attention of major factions. After Che's return, Lu brought him before the academy's three Supreme Realm ancestors, where he learned that his disciple came from the Xuanyuan Imperial Clan of the Taichu Immortal Domain. 16 32 49

Appearance

Lu Xuanchen is an elderly man with snow-white hair and beard. He usually wears a green Daoist robe and carries an immortal-like bearing, though his authority becomes markedly sharper when the academy is threatened. 4 13

Personality

Lu is protective, responsible, and decisive toward Eastern Xuan Academy and its disciples. When Xuanyuan Che killed Nangong Lie, he publicly assumed responsibility as Che's master despite the danger of provoking the Nangong Family. 9

He is also politically cautious and strategic. Rather than immediately confronting the Xiao Family over the Sword Pavilion massacre, he investigates the deeper conspiracy and uses Nangong Huo as bait to expose the force behind the Nangong Family. 14

Although he repeatedly urges Xuanyuan Che to remain low-key, Lu takes obvious pride in his disciple's accomplishments. His confidence is often tempered by bewilderment at Che's overwhelming strength and Imperial Clan background. 24 32 48 49
