Kagura navigated the Second Great Ninja War, Danzo’s betrayal, and Madara’s schemes before a seal transformed him into a white cat. After returning to human form, he married Tsunade, trained a new team, and left the students’ first mission beyond Konoha marked by a deadly encounter.

Arc 5The Second Great Ninja War

Kagura sealed Shukaku, took Uchiha Setsuna’s Mangekyō Sharingan, and tried to protect the people close to him as the Second Great Ninja War began. After Kagura was lured toward Nawaki by a forged letter, Nara Sora stood between the Genin and their attackers until a mysterious figure intervened.

  • Uchiha Setsuna’s Akatsuki team freed Shukaku, but Kagura used Susanoo and the Totsuka Blade to seal the One-Tails back into Ono Shota and took Setsuna’s Mangekyō Sharingan.
  • Kagura gave Orochimaru the Mangekyō Sharingan to study and used Kotoamatsukami to make him avoid Danzo, then spent time with Tsunade, Kushina, and Minato.
  • The Demonic Statue extracted Shukaku from Ono Shota, and Uchiha Madara put Uchiha Setsuna under his control as the Second Great Ninja War approached.

Arc 6The Valley Trap

Kagura exposed Danzo’s betrayal and helped Hiruzen drive him from Konoha, while Madara’s schemes escalated the war. The arc left Tsunade’s force trapped in Hanzo’s valley, with Kagura teleporting into the ambush to reach her.

  • Kagura defeated the Ninja Sword Group, exposed Danzo’s plot to Hiruzen, and helped force Danzo to flee Konoha as a rogue ninja.
  • Kagura and Hiruzen confronted Danzo’s alliance with Kumogakure, while Madara’s forces captured the Two-Tails Jinchuriki and revealed a wider threat.

Arc 7The White Cat Seal

Kagura was left in a white cat’s body after Madara failed to extract the Tailed Beasts, and he returned to Konoha with Tsunade. Hiruzen eventually began undoing the seal, but Tsunade returned home to find Kagura missing and a note that enraged her.

  • Kagura fought Madara’s Six Paths, but Tobirama defeated him and Madara’s forces extracted the Two-Tails and Shukaku from his body.
  • Kirin and the two Tailed Beasts broke the weakened barrier, allowing the Three Great Nations’ forces to enter the valley, but Madara’s group escaped with Kagura.
  • Hiruzen found Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru alive, while Kagura awoke transformed into a white cat and made his way back to Konoha.
  • Hiruzen explained that Madara’s Five Elements Seal had changed Kagura’s body and that its added Yin-Yang Release made it impossible to undo for now.

On Team 7’s first trip beyond Konoha, the students killed three Sunagakure ninja who threatened a mother and child, and Kagura arranged for the pair to travel safely toward Konoha.

  • Tsunade mistook Kagura’s proposal preparations for a kidnapping plot, but Kagura found her on the mountain and proposed, and they exchanged vows.
  • Kagura and Tsunade married in Konoha, then Hiruzen Sarutobi assigned Kagura to teach Minato, Kushina, and Hiashi.
