"How is that possible?" Hermione's expression stiffened. "Our cheapest air unit is four Grarings for 200 Merit Points. How could they possibly afford them?"
"The other side has Flying Broomsticks!" Wood seemed to have spotted the target. He pointed at several black specks above the distant woods. "Look, those guys are patrolling the route between Position No. 1 and Stronghold No. 3. They're obviously searching for our reconnaissance team."
"What? Are their Flying Broomsticks really that cheap? How did they manage to redeem them so quickly?" Hermione seemed to realize something, and her heart suddenly lurched. "If they redeem a large number of Flying Broomsticks, won't we be pinned to the ground?"
"No!" Wood shook his head. "The other side has extremely cheap flying units, but we have very cheap anti-aircraft weapons too. Have you forgotten the Scatter Cannons? They only cost 50 Merit Points each!"
"I thought it was strange that there was such cheap anti-aircraft equipment. So the attackers' flying devices are cheap too."
Wood cursed himself inwardly. How had he not realized this sooner? They were at a disadvantage now.
"Killing an enemy earns two Merit Points. If those Flying Broomsticks cost the same as Scatter Cannons, then counting the people we've lost and the production from Position No. 1, they could just about afford one squad if they spent everything they had." Hermione had caught on by now, too.
For them, entering the Battlefield Instance for the first time, the biggest obstacle was that they had no idea what kind of supplies the other side could redeem from the quartermaster.
