Besides recording basic data such as its length, weight, girth, and Magic Power Reserve, he also collected samples of its blood, body fluids, teeth, scales, and venom.

The Basilisk was 28 meters long and weighed over 17 tons. It was an undeniable giant, larger and longer-lived than every Basilisk in the historical records.

Its venom had an unimaginably high corrosive power, its scales were incredibly tough, and the components in its blood were also of great research value.

The more Anduin learned about the Basilisk, the less willing he was to kill it. Even from a purely biological perspective, it was an animal of immense research value.
