Voldemort: Why Was I So Unlucky?

The sudden turn of events caught Voldemort completely off guard. Before he could even figure out what was happening, Anduin's Legilimency invaded him once again.

It wasn't that Voldemort didn't want to fight back. But having only just awakened from his Horcrux, his memories were jumbled and he was in an extremely weakened state. The moment he tried to summon his mental strength to resist, searing pain engulfed his soul.

In this state, weaker than even a half-dead man, he couldn't even kill himself again. All he could do was watch helplessly as Anduin's consciousness delved deep into his soul.

Anduin had no reason to go easy on someone like Voldemort. The moment he broke into Voldemort's Mental World, he charged through it, crudely rummaging through the memories buried within.

But Voldemort's method of suicide had already caused considerable damage to himself, leaving his memories far more fragmented than an ordinary person's.

In such a state, even Voldemort, a master of Legilimency, would need considerable effort to sort through his memories. It might even take a long period of recuperation for him to recover.

So in this fragmented Mental World, Anduin would have a hard time finding the information he wanted right away.

And for the sake of his subsequent plans, he couldn't afford to spend too long carefully sorting through those memories. Staying too long in someone's mind could easily leave traces.

With Voldemort's mastery of Mind Magic, it wouldn't be easy to hide completely from him.

So Anduin could only gather the information he cared about most, the things that mattered most.

That meant the locations of Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes!

Since these were the most important memories in Voldemort's mind, it was only natural that they had been hidden in the deepest part of his Mind Space.
