Once the cheers had mostly died down, Bagman spoke again.
He drew out his words and winked at the audience.
"Fleur Delacour, from Beauxbatons!"
Fleur's second-place finish was impressive, after all. She had scored only a little less than Klein.
Applause and cheers rose again. Looking a little lost, she waved to the crowd and shed tears of excitement.

But anyone who looked closely could see that, given her "improper" behavior in the maze, many of the girls in the audience had chosen to stay silent and refused to applaud.

When introducing Krum and Fleur, Bagman had been delighted and excited.

The audience joined in, cheering along.

Someone on the Council Stand twitched at the corner of his eye.

No one had doubted that Klein would win first place in the Triwizard Tournament.
But now that the moment had truly arrived, it was still hard not to feel excited.
The place became an ocean of celebration!
Krum and Fleur were applauding, too.
