For the Department of Mysteries, deliberately tracking someone down was no difficult task.
The stray cats prowling the streets, the crows circling overhead, even the rats in the sewers could all serve as their eyes and ears.
So, unfortunately for Voldemort, Bode and Felina—two powerful Aurors—had chased him all the way through the sewers and out to the outskirts of London.
"Just look at you, you poor little thing. Come on, come back with your big sister."
Standing in a pincer formation with her partner, Felina chuckled, wand in hand. But there wasn't the slightest trace of a smile in her eyes behind her gold-rimmed glasses.
This little monster was far more troublesome than they'd imagined.
It was fortunate that the Department of Mysteries sent people out in pairs. If she'd come alone, she wasn't sure she could have subdued him.
Bode said nothing, staring at the glittering ring on Voldemort's finger and grinning.
Hunched over, Voldemort clenched his teeth and glared at the two wizards ten paces away with venomous hatred.
Rage burned in his chest. He swore that he wanted nothing more than to cast the Cruciatus Curse a hundred times on the spot, punishing these lowly wizards.
But unfortunately,
he simply had no strength left.
Even though the ring on his finger was still supplying him with magic, his weakened body could no longer raise an arm, let alone cast a spell.
Voldemort couldn't help feeling a pang of sorrow.
"Is the Great Dark Lord to fall into ruin once more?"
He wasn't worried about his own life at all.
With a Horcrux, he was immortal as long as it remained intact. But the thought that, after those years of slumber, the ring bestowed upon him by fate was about to leave his side twisted his heart
