Duncan slowly reached out and took the divine weapon before him. In a low voice, he asked, "What is it called?"

The Guardian Fairy said slowly, "Sword of Promised Victory!"

Beside the Holy Sword was an ordinary metal scabbard, its surface adorned with exquisite patterns crafted by Elves and inlaid with gold and jewels. Yet it was not the true scabbard, merely a temporary vessel
