The emotions conveyed through the Symbiotic Link were extremely clear: it wanted to go in. It wanted to go back.
The Worm of Knowledge writhed anxiously in his left eye socket, its entire body glowing as dark purple and silver-white alternated in flashes, the colors shifting faster than Lu Yuan had ever seen before.
Lu Yuan hesitated.
Letting the Worm of Knowledge enter a branch of the Sea of Knowledge was risky. If the Symbiotic Link broke within the river, he might lose the worm forever.
But this was also the only chance.
From outside the barrier, all he could see were colors and specks of light. If he wanted to know what was happening inside, the students' condition, and the true structure of the Sea of Knowledge, he had to send in a creature capable of sensing the essence of knowledge and have it see for itself.
Lu Yuan made his decision.
A brief command passed through the Symbiotic Link: Go, but don't stray too far. Stay connected at all times.
With Lu Yuan's approval, it shot out of his left eye socket at incredible speed, like a streak of dark purple light. It plunged into a gap in the barrier, passed through the stream of Fragments, and vanished into the depths of the river.
The Symbiotic Link rippled slightly, but remained stable overall.
The next moment, Lu Yuan's vision split.
One eye remained in the consciousness space, looking at the deathly pale void and the river cascading like a waterfall.
The other perspective came from the Worm of Knowledge.
It was racing through the river, chasing after the students.
The Worm of Knowledge caught up with the students.
It approached from the side without alerting anyone.
Through its perspective, Lu Yuan saw the world through the students' eyes.
