He just did not know whether it recovered at a fixed rate every three days, or gradually after three days.
Even though he had regained ten points, the gap in his sanity limit remained. That uncomfortable feeling, as though part of his foundation had been hollowed out, still weighed on him.
Fortunately, it no longer affected his movements.
He tidied himself up, hung Flame at his waist, gathered the supplies that had been prepared, and tucked several Potions into his pocket.
When he pushed open the door and stepped into the hallway, he took a deep breath. The Branch's morning air carried a chill, mixed with the faint scent of tea left overnight.
Down in the courtyard, Boer was already waiting.
A Night Watcher two-horse cargo wagon stood by the Branch's side entrance. The carriage was not large, and four or five lidded wooden crates were piled in the back. The crates bore Logistics Department seals.
The two horses belonged to the Branch. Their coats were grayish brown, and their bridles bore the Night Watcher insignia.
Boer leaned against the carriage shaft, stuffing the last piece of bread into his mouth. When he saw Lu Yuan come down, he shoved it all in, chewed twice, and spat out a muffled word.
