The Attendant's expression did not change. The fingers resting on his left arm tightened slightly. That was his only response.
"The Great Ascendant didn't come out unscathed either." Klaus's gaze shifted slightly. "Even anti-contamination alloy made from special materials couldn't block its pollution."
The Great Ascendant's Mechanical Eyeball flickered. He lowered his head to look at his right wrist. The gears clicked twice, but he said nothing.
"But even with four Fourth Orders attacking together, they still failed to kill it." Klaus lowered his voice. "So I have reason to suspect that thing may have some kind of connection to a Taboo Entity." He paused.
"Lastly, there was that sudden heartbeat. Whatever Bronze City sealed is very likely the owner of that heartbeat..."
The room fell silent for a moment, the air heavy enough to tighten around them.
Lu Yuan stood by the door, his expression barely changing, though his thoughts had already turned over several times.
The attendant and the Great Ascendant had both been injured. Before Lu Yuan left, either one of them alone had counted among the strongest fighters in the city.
