This passageway was much lower than the main hall. It looked as though this area had been divided into two or three levels. The floor beneath his feet was black marble, inlaid with pale white and other-colored stones. All kinds of paintings and statues hung along the walls, with an electric lamp lit at regular intervals.
The senior student stopped before a wooden door on the left side of the passageway.
Three words were written above the door: Potion Area.
"This is the potion lounge," the senior student said, turning slightly to the side. "Wait here. I'll notify the knight over there. Just wait a moment."
Lu Yuan thanked her and watched her head back the way she had come before pushing the door open and walking in.
The wooden door was thick and solid, its surface carved with Knight Academy's distinctive pattern: a bundle of medicinal grain, like the wheat stalks of Abundance Tower.
The room was fairly spacious, with several tables piled high with books and documents. A few chairs stood scattered about, while paintings and portraits decorated the walls. An unknown statue also hung on the center wall.
Most eye-catching were the sections of piping along the walls. The pipes emerged from one wall before turning into another. Lu Yuan leaned closer and found the pipe walls warm. There was probably water inside, with steam passing through them.
It seemed Knight Academy had already begun trying to develop technology. This room could be considered a preliminary example of it.
The room was warmer than outside, and blanket-like coverings were draped over the chairs. Lu Yuan casually picked one and sat down.
