"Not likely." Oden thought it over, then dismissed the idea. "The reason is simple. In my day, the Withered Glory Society wasn't much of a church. But the four figures associated with the Four Knights Society were famous even then. They were among the few Taboos who dared to walk the world openly under their titles."
"But, uh, Lu Yuan, how about we run?"
"Huh?" Lu Yuan was baffled. "Didn't you just say they were connected to one Taboo at most? Why would we run?"
"Like I said, Heretics always love doing bizarre things," Oden continued. "Who knows what strange being the Withered Glory Society worships, or what that man might have hidden inside him? Don't let the Knight Academy keep interrogating him. They might drag something very strange out of him."
"From what I just saw, if he really has ties to the Withered Glory Society, then he must already worship some being. It'll be a fine mess if they actually pull a Taboo out of him.
"And you heard them, didn't you? The being they worship is still active. It isn't asleep. If the interrogation really brings it out, things won't be fun."
A chill crept up the back of Lu Yuan's neck.
"What about the books?" Lu Yuan forced the conversation back on track. "If we can confirm a connection to the Withered Glory Society, there must be some records of it, right?"
"That's tough." Oden sighed. "It used to be an obscure little church. Now that it's a Heretic church, information will be even harder to find. Then again, after all these years, you might have newer records of it here. If you insist on looking, I'd recommend two books: Record of Northern Territory Eeries and Legends and Brief History of Church Development in Northern Territory.
