Snakefolk Halberd Warriors were elite snakefolk soldiers. Every one of them was tall and wielded a heavy polearm with tremendous striking power. They were one of the snakefolk forces' signature troops.

Each Halberd Warrior squad had five members. Across the nine ships, forty-five elite Halberd Warriors led hundreds of slave fighters into the third charge.

Morken had sent out more troops this time than in the first two attacks combined, and their quality was far higher too.

Standing at the bow of the Ghost Dreadnought, Bai Xiaowen narrowed his eyes at the nine boats cutting through the waves toward them. "That old snakefolk is cautious. The older he gets, the craftier he is."

Cecilia sprang lightly down from the crossbeam. "He's probably trying to gauge your strength. That's why he keeps increasing the pressure wave by wave instead of committing all his troops at once. Once we've shown our hand, the entire snakefolk force will attack."

Bai Xiaowen nodded slightly. As a lord skilled at leading troops, Cecilia had a keen eye for strategy.

"The old snakefolk is being too cautious. Right now, I'm bluffing with an empty fortress aboard the Ghost Dreadnought... The real killing blow is coming from outside, not inside." Bai Xiaowen smiled. "If he's wary, I'll just keep my hand hidden..."

As a summoner, Bai Xiaowen could let his summoned creatures do plenty of damage without lifting a finger himself.

"An empty fortress? What's that?" Cecilia looked a little puzzled.

"I'll tell you later. It's a famous story from my country." Bai Xiaowen smiled, then his expression turned serious. "They're boarding. Fight!"
