We Were Tricked!

Bai Xiaowen watched dozens of assault boats surge toward them and shook his head slightly.

"Looks like the old Snakefolk has finally made up his mind. No more sending troops in piecemeal—he's committed half his forces. There are four Snakefolk generals in plain sight, not to mention the caster bosses hiding on the last two boats..."

Cecilia drew a breath. "What do we do, Dio?"

"If the old Snakefolk wants to force my hand, then I'll oblige. I hope he won't be disappointed..."

Bai Xiaowen stood and looked toward the dark water surrounding the island. "What a shame..."

The Snakefolk general Aibize leaped aboard the Ghost Dreadnought first. Raising his Sea-Stone Heavy Halberd, he roared, "Charge! Charge! Take back the Snakefolk's ship of glory! For the Grand Overlord!"

A Spirit Realm Rules notification appeared: "Snakefolk Halberd Warrior commander Aibize has activated Inspiration. All allies' attack speed and movement speed increase by 35% for 30 seconds! While Inspiration is active, the duration of control effects suffered by all allies is halved."

The Snakefolk and slave warriors charged forward as if they'd been whipped into a frenzy.

Aibize met Butcher first. With a shout, he drove his Sea-Stone Heavy Halberd into Butcher's belly. Filthy blood sprayed everywhere, and the impact sent Butcher's massive body flying several meters before he crashed down.

Another notification told Bai Xiaowen that this was Aibize's Tactical Thrust.

With Butcher knocked away, a huge gap opened in the deck's defensive line. Another burly Snakefolk general came charging through, swinging a heavy, broad-bladed sword. He slashed Rageclaw, leaving a deep wound and forcing him back several steps.

A horde of Snakefolk Halberd Warriors stormed the deck alongside the slave warriors serving as cannon fodder, engaging Bai Xiaowen's summoned creatures in close-quarters combat.
