Bai Xiaowen nodded thoughtfully but said nothing more.
Qiao Rui was right. The Spirit Realm Rules kept skills relatively balanced: skills with drawbacks were generally powerful. The reverse was also true. An excessively powerful skill had to come with restrictions or drawbacks; it could never be strong without a catch. This was an unwritten rule governing skills and even psionic items.
The principle could be taken further. It held true for life as a whole: every gain came with a loss, and every reward had a price. As the saying went, there was no such thing as a free lunch.
The Black Soul Stone was so powerful. What price had Bai Xiaowen paid for it, or what price would he pay in the future?
An S- Tier Class Change quest?
Probably not enough.
Bai Xiaowen shook his head and exhaled, casting aside the thoughts crowding his mind. He smiled. "All right. Bring the Ghost Ship to the surface and set course for Chakaluo Port. While we're underway, we'll reorganize the Freedom Legion and weed out the weak."
"Open the treasure chests first!" Li Shuyi said. She could hardly wait.
"Fine, treasure chests first." Bai Xiaowen smiled and gave Li Shuyi's pert nose a playful stroke.
As usual, they started with the Silver Treasure Chests. Opening dozens of them was a workout in itself. Aside from Psionic Points, they yielded a pile of Blue Gear and psionic items of limited power, including consumables and low-star Enhancement Cards.
They dismantled anything bound to them. Bai Xiaowen stored the rest—items that could be traded without extra fees—to list for sale in the virtual shop once they returned to Earth.
One Silver Treasure Chest did yield something worth mentioning: a special item.
