Interest Club Information Session

Itozawa, Ichinose, and Kanzaki snapped out of their shock from Tachibana Akane's display of abilities and began ringing their order bells. The tension from moments ago still lingered in the canteen's air, but it was quickly replaced by the aroma of lunch and the chatter of students.

They ate and talked, discussing the recent events.

Just then, the canteen's speakers crackled to life. "Attention, students," a voice announced. It was calm yet powerful, enough to make everyone in the canteen pause their actions and focus on the sudden broadcast.

"This afternoon at five, the school's main gymnasium will host an interest club orientation," the voice continued, each word echoing clearly in every corner of the canteen as if the speaker were whispering in their ears. "We sincerely invite all interested students to come and watch this afternoon." The enthusiasm and anticipation in the voice seemed capable of igniting a small flame in everyone's heart, making them eager to explore the unknown.

"Please remember, the time is five in the afternoon, and the location is the school's main gymnasium. We'll see you there."

The announcement repeated three times. Itozawa looked around, unable to spot any obvious speaker equipment in the canteen.

He quickly realized this must be a product of abilities, though he wasn't sure if it was a creation or a direct effect. Otherwise, such widespread dissemination and the feeling of being personally addressed would be impossible.

But then...

"The speaker must be an ability user too, right? Such persuasive words... it must be a Mind-Type ability user to achieve this."

Kanzaki voiced his confusion directly.

"Shall we go check out the gymnasium this afternoon? I'm quite curious about what kind of ability-related clubs this school has," Ichinose suggested. They readily agreed.

The afternoon classes were uneventful and won't be detailed here.

After school, Itozawa, Ichinose, and Kanzaki headed to the gymnasium together.

They arrived relatively early, and there weren't many people at the gymnasium entrance yet. Moreover, there seemed to be no volunteers managing the crowd.

But as soon as they stepped into the gymnasium, a small booklet landed in each of their hands. This surprised all three of them, yet they also realized that even without visible staff, someone was indeed maintaining order from the shadows.

They opened the booklets to see which clubs were available. The first few pages listed clubs similar to those in ordinary schools: a literature club, a basketball club, a music club, and so on.

However, when they turned to the last two pages, they found some unusual names—Dream Magic Club, Miracle Circus, Mind Combat Club. These names clearly indicated they weren't ordinary clubs and were related to abilities.

Itozawa nodded as he read. The school seems to have separated ordinary clubs from ability clubs. But that makes sense; after all, besides their abilities, they're no different from ordinary people.

Ichinose's eyes quickly scanned the booklet, particularly drawn to the ability clubs. "These ability clubs sound so cool! Let's go check them out!"

Kanzaki was more composed, scrutinizing the booklet carefully. "We need to choose wisely. Joining a suitable club will definitely help us improve our abilities."

Discussing as they walked, the three entered the gymnasium. Some students had already gathered inside, chatting in small groups or stopping by the club booths. As time passed, more and more students filled the gymnasium, eventually numbering over a hundred. Most were curious about the clubs the school offered, and the buzz of conversation created a lively atmosphere.

Just as most people had arrived, a figure suddenly appeared on stage. A senior female student with a purple hair bun, Tachibana Akane, was on stage. Clearly, as in the original work, Senior Tachibana, the Student Council secretary, was the host for this interest club orientation.

However, Itozawa wasn't focused on that. He had clearly sensed an energy fluctuation just now. It seemed Senior Tachibana had appeared on stage using an ability.

He felt a bit confused. The ability Senior Tachibana displayed at noon was object-type Ice ability. This teleportation ability seemed closer to a body-type or spirit-type ability.

He observed the people around him but found no other energy fluctuations. This meant this ability was indeed activated by Senior Tachibana herself.

Could she have two abilities?

Confused, he turned his head and asked Kanzaki beside him if a person could have two abilities.

Kanzaki hadn't noticed the energy fluctuation and was curious why Itozawa asked.

"What? Does someone have two abilities?"

As he spoke, he looked around, wondering if he had missed something.

Ichinose, standing nearby, also heard his question and turned her gaze over curiously.

Itozawa spoke slowly, "Do you remember Senior Tachibana's Ice ability display at noon? She could control ice, which is clearly a type of object-type ability. But just now, her teleportation ability seemed more like a body-type or spirit-type ability. I was wondering, can a person really have two abilities?"

Kanzaki's brow furrowed as well. His gaze shifted from Itozawa to Ichinose, seemingly seeking agreement.

"That's a valid question. I've never heard of anyone possessing two abilities simultaneously." He scratched his head and continued, "Normally, each person can only awaken one ability; that's the rule as far as we know. But if Senior Tachibana can indeed do it, she's truly an exception."

If even Kanzaki didn't know, Ichinose certainly wouldn't. However, she was genuinely curious about the question. She decided to find an opportunity to ask directly later, albeit discreetly. Of course, if it was a difficult question, she wouldn't press for an answer.

Thus, they didn't have much time to delve deeper into the issue and waited for the orientation to officially begin.

First, representatives from the ordinary interest clubs took the stage. They introduced their respective clubs one by one, including the basketball club, soccer club, music club, and so on.

However, for these newly enrolled ability users, except for those who were passionate about sports in middle school, others showed no interest in the ordinary clubs.

The students in the audience became restless, urging them to finish quickly so they could move on to the ability club introductions. Clearly, they were more eager for those presentations.

The representatives of the ordinary clubs were well aware that even though these sports had been slightly modified to be more suitable for ability users, they still seemed rather dull compared to the actual ability clubs for most people.

Therefore, they quickly concluded their brief introductions and yielded the stage to the representatives of the ability clubs.
