"There's someone else here!" Jack barked, his hand already reaching into his jacket before he stopped.
"Don't move, or you'll die!" A gun he recognized all too well was pressed against his forehead.
It was his company's standard-issue sidearm.
"So it's you, Bai Letian!" The old White man glared coldly at Bai Jing, with a gun pressed to his forehead as well.
Two guns, aimed at two people.
"I noticed it when I came in. This room has excellent soundproofing, and since it's the boss's office, there are no cameras!" Bai Jing swung his guns around. Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! He fired four shots from each hand!
So no matter what I did here, nobody would find out!
Jack was shot in both wrists and ankles and immediately collapsed into his chair. The old White man was shot in the shoulder socket.
He was already fat, and even shifting was difficult for him. Now that both arms had gone limp, he was practically wedged into the chair.
Bai Jing bent down and picked up a stack of files from in front of the old White man.
"Bai Letian, male, a citizen of the Celestial Empire, twenty-two to twenty-six years old. Arrogant, proud, independent-minded, neither greedy for money nor lustful. The Order Society he established is an organization with a strong communist character. Suspected communist."
"I rather like that assessment, but you got one thing wrong. It's not that I'm not lustful—I just don't like the kind of women over here!" Bai Jing sneered, then suddenly noticed that the old White man's arm was twisting unnaturally.
He stood and walked over to the old man's seat. Hidden beneath the desk was a red button!
"What is this, an alarm?" Bai Jing stroked his chin. "How does this alarm work? Does pressing it trigger it? Or does cutting the power trigger it?"
The old White man glared at him hatefully, but the violent fluctuations in his brain waves had already betrayed him.
"So either pressing it or cutting the power will trigger it!" Bai Jing sighed. "Then I'll have to trouble you."
He raised his hand and fired twice more. The old White man's wrist instantly went limp and dropped to the floor.
Bai Jing glanced at the old man's lower body and sneered. "You could actually reach that spot just by lifting your leg, right? Why did you get so fat that your legs are pinned by the chair and can't even lift? Why not get a bigger chair?"
"Bai Letian, if you dare kill me, there'll be no place left for you anywhere in America!" the old White man said hatefully.
"Was I supposed to surrender without a fight?" Bai Jing raised his gun and fired twice, shattering the man's thigh bones as well.
Vibranium bullets really were useful. They lost almost no velocity in flight, giving them tremendous penetration and immense power!
Even if he managed to get out of that chair now, he wouldn't be able to lift his legs!
Bai Jing spread open his own file and saw another one beneath it.
"Ren Hong, twenty-six, a citizen of China, PhD in mathematics from the University of Chicago, calculus instructor. Declined an offer to remain at the university and planned to return to China. It is judged that his research in mathematics after returning to China may have a considerable impact on China's military technology..."
Date signed: January 24.
"He's still alive?" Bai Jing asked.
"Any talent that cannot be used by America deserves to die!" the old White man said bitterly.
Bang!
A bullet struck between his brows. Wearing a smile that held three parts confusion, three parts shock, and four parts ridicule, the old White man went to hell.
I'm the base chief, damn it. I know plenty of secrets. Why didn't you even ask before killing me?
But Bai Jing had never intended to interrogate him. He continued to the next file.
Roguelhan, Indian genius, PhD in mathematics from Princeton University, topology lecturer...
Urijina, from Tajikistan, PhD in life sciences and genetic engineering. She had fallen in love with Li Wenhua, an international student from China.
Ling Gexing, Chinese American physicist, professor at the Gaoxing Precision Physics Research Institute. Suspected of secretly funding China's acquisition of a high-end inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer.
"Bai Letian, one person's strength can't stand against a nation. If you join us, with your abilities..." Watching Bai Jing's actions, Jack grew increasingly nervous and finally could not help speaking.
Facing death calmly was something grunts did. He had made it into management; he did not want to die for no reason!
His answer was a bullet engraved with brilliant patterns.
As the saying went, when America suspected you had nuclear weapons, you had better actually have them.
You think I'm Superman? You think I'm hard to control? Then your instincts are right!
He patted Jack down and found two more guns!
Perhaps they were standard issue?!
Bai Jing removed the magazines and put them in his pocket, then casually picked up a gun and opened the door.
"Officer Jack, there..." A young woman had apparently been waiting outside for quite a while because she needed something from Jack.
But the person who opened the door was an Asian man.
"Hey, you are..." the woman cried out.
"Be good. Take a nap!" Bai Jing tapped her shoulder, and she immediately fell asleep.
Combat personnel and non-combat personnel had completely different physical qualities. A scan made that obvious.
Granted, the Brotherhood made no distinction between men, women, old people, or children when carrying out assassinations. But Bai Jing was not the Brotherhood, and he was not America.
"Who are you?" Seeing the woman collapse, the clerks outside immediately stood up.
Bai Jing raised his gun and fired at the ceiling.
The entire office instantly fell silent.
The rest of the way was completely unobstructed.
Until he pushed open a door.
Outside stood over a hundred burly men, holding over a hundred guns.
Bai Jing smiled, casually tossed his gun aside, then crooked a finger at them.
"Huh?" The crowd looked at one another, somewhat unable to understand what was happening.
We know Asians are good at fighting, but don't you know where you are? There are two hundred of us here, and only one of you!
"Scared?" Bai Jing asked.
"Tch!" Who could stand such a provocation?
A White man threw down his gun. "Move aside. I'll do it!"
At the training ground, two hundred muscular men in white surrounded the ring. On the ring stood Bai Jing, slender and seemingly frail at 1.80 meters tall. Facing him was a muscular White man standing 1.90 meters tall!
"You yellow monkey, I'll beat you so hard you'll run home crying for your mommy!" he roared, charging forward like a raging bull, intending to ram Bai Jing straight off the ring!
Bai Jing stood loosely, watching the man charge right up to him without even blinking!
He merely raised a hand lightly!
"Tai Chi?" someone cried out.
This world even had qi, so Tai Chi was undeniably a real martial art. It enjoyed worldwide renown, and these people, who practiced fighting arts from various countries, were no strangers to it!
But the stance Bai Jing assumed clearly was not the Tai Chi Cannon Fist commonly used in real combat. It was health-preserving Tai Chi, the kind old men and women practiced in parks!
Could that really hit someone?
But Bai Jing told them it could!
The arm he raised looked like a mantis trying to stop a chariot against the charging brute!
Yet where fist and arm met, there was no sound at all. The burly man, however, seemed as though someone had grabbed him by the nose, staggering straight off the ring.
Fortunately, he was well-trained. After only three or five steps, he steadied himself, then turned back and asked in shock, "Qi?"
As the person involved, he could clearly feel that he had not touched that man's arm at all. His forward momentum had plunged into something like a muddy swamp, while his opponent seemed completely unaffected. Then a towering wave surged up behind him and shoved him away!
What else could that be but qi?
Even in a world where qi existed, it was not something commonplace. Most people had never even heard of it. Only top martial artists could come into contact with such power.
He had never imagined seeing such power in this young man before him!
How could Bai Jing possibly know qi? This was Gravity Shift—using four ounces to deflect a thousand pounds!
Rather than answering, he extended a hand. "Again?"
"Ah!" The burly man bellowed and charged again!
He did not take Bai Jing seriously at all. Even if Bai Jing had cultivated qi, how much could he possibly have at that age!
He could wear him down to death!
He stepped out like lightning, then threw a straight punch directly at Bai Jing's forehead. It was not a boxing style passed down by any particular school, but the standard straight punch commonly used in free fighting matches!
But it was slow—far too slow!
Bai Jing raised his arm, tugged at gravity, blocked sideways, and knocked the straight punch away. Then he turned with the motion, straightened his waist and back, and slammed fiercely into the burly man!
Baji, Iron Mountain Lean!
Surging repulsive force erupted from his shoulder socket and blasted straight toward the burly man's heart. Though his left arm was guarding his chest, it could not stop the all-pervasive gravitational impact!
His heart exploded at once. He vomited a mouthful of thick blood mixed with fragments of internal organs, flew two or three meters, then crashed heavily to the ground!
All that remained was a trail of blood and a circle of shocked, bewildered stares.
Bai Jing straightened up, gently rubbed his shoulder, then looked around, especially at the several cameras in the corner, and shouted, "Next!"
Before you continue
