Background / History

Bai Jing renamed the Gray Squirrel Gang the Order Society and introduced its Eye of Order emblem. Its initial leadership placed Pigg Schultz as President and Ryan Daling as Vice President, while establishing Security and Finance departments. Bai Jing ordered an end to gambling, prostitution, drugs, and human trafficking, directing the group toward legally structured security-fee collection instead. 7

The Society began in Hell's Kitchen with two blocks and roughly one hundred people. It expanded to six blocks and nearly three hundred members while presenting its objective as bringing order to the district. 23

Its campaign against local gangs sharply reduced gang activity in Hell's Kitchen. The Society imposed bans on guns and drugs, enforced fines for violations, and expanded its territory through armed operations. 47 49 By the time it had grown to five times its earlier size, it was focused on stabilization, recruitment, and negotiations with businesses. 51

The Society later developed into a systematic six-tier organization centered on real estate and security. It added personnel in legal and commercial roles, including Legal Department Assistant Green Ste and Deputy Minister of Commerce Karl Mende. 68 77

Bai Jing eventually described his original purpose as using Hell's Kitchen as a mirror of America's ugliness. He later pursued ideological inheritance through a school and considered expansion plans including the Sky Eye Plan, Earth Overturn Plan, and Shadow Plan. 85 89

The Society began pursuing international influence, with Bai Jing proposing 170 global branches within half a year and planned entry into search engines, video websites, and smartphones to influence global discourse. 108 Its recruitment process assessed prospective members' patriotism, adaptability, comprehensive ability, and combat potential through a simulated 1938 China battlefield. 119 120

Following the destruction of America's Fourth Fleet, the Society's actions contributed to widespread instability across America. Bai Jing maintained that these events exposed the country's underlying conditions, while also intending to use the Society's medical capabilities to assist affected people. 132 133

The Society sought independence and recognition at the United Nations. Song Shujun presented a poll claiming 98% support for its establishment, requested UN membership, and argued that its experts should hold status equal to national governments in Earth’s defense. 165 A majority of representatives voted in favor of the Society guarding Earth. 166

During the Chitauri invasion of New York, the Society publicly entered the global stage. Its Judges defeated Chitauri forces with overwhelming ease, and Bai Jing declared that the Society would protect Earth. 180

After encountering the Heavenly God Group, Bai Jing decided to expand the Society across parallel universes to protect his secret. 216 He subsequently created an Order Society Universe and dispatched Society members across parallel worlds to acquire Space Stones. 222 223
