Piltover. Inside the circular building late at night, Enforcers patrolled the halls. In these extraordinary times, they were fully armed. Though exhaustion showed on their faces, they forced themselves to stay alert.

Piltover had suffered a crushing defeat today!

When the Enforcers, missing fingers and limbs, were carried back into Piltover, the sight terrified every Piltover Citizen.

At the very top floor of the building, the Councillors were holding an emergency meeting over the events of the day.

Jayce, having just left the laboratory and changed into formal wear, listened to Enforcer Sheriff Marcus's report as countless voices battled within his mind.

"Zaun's violent resistance has cost us forty-two Enforcers."

[Jayce, give up Hextech. The Professor was right. It isn't something we can control.]

"According to our investigation, the Boss behind the Lian Hua Gang is very likely Jinx—the criminal who destroyed the airship at the harbor and bombed Councillor Talis's laboratory building."

[Jayce, my student, why... why are you speaking like this?]

"Based on the information gathered during our ongoing investigations, we have discovered that Jinx is likely connected to someone: Zaun's current foremost industrialist, Silco."

[What are you waiting for? Viktor is about to die!]

"So we—"

"Enough!" Jayce suddenly roared, slamming his hand onto the table. His abrupt outburst made every councillor present turn to look at him.

Mel looked at Jayce with concern. "Jayce?"

"Sorry. I... I'm a little overwhelmed." Jayce came back to his senses and offered the others an apologetic explanation.

The Councillors nodded. Jayce took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and exhaled slowly. When he opened them again, he said in a low voice, "Marcus, I want to know—was Jinx the reason for your failure?"

"The terrorist who stole the Hextech Gem, killed Enforcers, and carried out acts of terror?"
