Silco rose from Zaun's mines to become the city's dominant underworld figure, uniting the Alchemical Barons and ruling through fear, illicit industry, and political leverage. Though he sought Zaun's autonomy from Piltover, his rule enabled Glow to spread through the lower city and left many Zaunites fearful and resentful of him. 8 16 29

His long-standing conflict with Vander stemmed from their opposing methods: Vander chose compromise and protection of Zaun's people, while Silco accepted chaos, sacrifice, and intimidation as necessary costs of independence.
