Ling Ying’s Arrival

Ling Ying reaches Piltover after drifting at sea and enters under the stolen identity of Shuriman mercenary Lilia Lance. She initially comes to locate a Void Crystal that may have been mistaken for a Hextech Crystal. 2 6

She meets Ezreal shortly after arriving. Their crystals react to one another, and Ezreal explains that Piltover researchers classified his fragment as a Drained Crystal with unusual but unmeasurable energy fluctuations. 6

The Midalda Incident

After killing Sophie Midalda, Ling Ying is arrested by Piltover enforcers. Caitlyn discovers that she is impersonating Lilia Lance, then offers to fake her death and provide a new identity rather than leave her vulnerable to the Midalda Family’s retaliation. 8 9

Caitlyn subsequently recruits Ling Ying into the Enforcement Department as Cecilia Ilana, believing her strength may be essential to Piltover’s future security. 10

Academy Investigation

Caitlyn assigns Cecilia to infiltrate Hextech Academy as a student and investigate possible hostile activity. The assignment leads to the exposure of Claire, a Space Mage using Shadow Magic and illusions within the academy. 12 15 16 17

Zaun Crisis and Long Bridge Attack

Piltover volunteers, including Ling Ying, Orianna, Jayce, and Viktor, travel to Zaun to respond to the poison-gas disaster. The crisis highlights the inequality between the cities and later forces Piltover to manage displaced refugees at the Long Bridge. 20 21 25

Mutated attackers strike the Long Bridge checkpoint, escalating tensions between Piltover and Zaun. Piltover responds with a blockade, investigations into Zaun’s alchemical industry, and fortified defense positions around the bridge. 26 27 28
