The Man Standing on the Titan's Shoulders

Caroline Lowry was a newcomer to Bloodfang Island. Today's routine patrol was assigned to his squad. Originally, nothing major would happen on such an island patrol, so Lowry decided to slack off and take a nap on the beach.

Lowry lay on the beach, basking in the sun and drinking beer. Life was incredibly pleasant. Lowry even felt like humming a little tune from his hometown to pass the time.

Just as Lowry was marveling at how wonderful life was and contemplating which pleasure house to visit and which girl to pick after his monthly wages were paid, the entire island shook. Lowry got up and looked towards the camp. Seeing no commotion, he continued to enjoy his life. But shortly after lying down, the tremors on the island became more frequent, like a giant dancing on the island. This terrified Lowry.

Lowry got up and muttered, "Is this an earthquake? These bastards didn't even tell me to take shelter!"

Lowry grabbed his flintlock and ran towards the camp. Upon arriving at the camp, he realized he shouldn't have come at all. Lowry stopped a guard and asked, "What the hell is going on? Why is Nautilus on the island? Doesn't he only attack ships that don't pay tithes?"

The guard, with a look of sheer terror, stared at Nautilus, unable to speak. Lowry slapped the guard awake and, holding his flintlock, roared, "Bastard, if you don't tell me, I'll blow you away right now!"

The guard snapped out of his panic. Looking at Lowry, he stammered, "Captain Lowry, Spencer and I were guarding the main hall today. While we were on duty, someone came. He said that with a snap of his fingers, half the people on our island would die. Spencer and I thought he was crazy and tried to drive him away. But he snapped his fingers and said, 'I've decided it's you, Nautilus!' Then Nautilus fell from the sky and smashed into the main hall. Spencer and the high-ranking officials in the hall were instantly crushed into meat paste!"

After hearing the guard's words, Lowry's mind went blank. A madman snapped his fingers, and Nautilus descended from the sky, wreaking havoc on the island. Was it just because he called him crazy? No! Things couldn't be that simple. A few days ago, the leader took a group of elite musketeers to buy weapons and hasn't returned yet. And this person appeared at this exact time. Such a coincidence? Lowry never believed in coincidences. Lowry watched Titan wreak havoc on the island, but the place where those children were held in the east suffered no damage!

Lowry understood the general cause and effect and let out a sigh. "The Bloodfang Gang is finished..."

The guard, mustering his courage, said, "Captain Lowry, we have many brothers outside the island. We can gather them and resist!"

Lowry slapped him and roared, "Idiot, can't you see! Our child trafficking business has been exposed! The leader and the others were definitely killed by that man! That batch of weapons is also in his hands. Those children, if given a gun, would be slaughtering our warriors! And in front of that damned Titan, no matter how many people come, they're just numbers!"

The idiotic guard trembled and was utterly terrified by Lowry's words. He stammered, "Captain, what should we do now?"

Lowry spat the saliva in his mouth onto the ground. "Those damned bastards! I strongly opposed their child trafficking business back then. Not only did they not listen, but they also demoted me to a mere captain! Now, watching these damned dogs die, I'll just defect to the new boss!"

Watching Titan wreak havoc on the island, Lowry's fear was no less than the guard's. Only one person could command Nautilus, and that was Lady Beard. It seemed the things those dogs were up to had also angered the great Lady Beard, who had sent her envoy to punish the Bloodfang Gang!

After Jiang Chuan rescued the children, he told them to wait for him in the basement. He asked Kelly to comfort the children's emotions while he came out to deal with these people.

Jiang Chuan stood on Titan's shoulder, coldly looking at the camp.

Seeing that Titan had done enough damage, Jiang Chuan told Titan to stop moving. Jiang Chuan stood on Titan's shoulder and roared, "Listen up, everyone else. Anyone who comes before me within five minutes, I will spare your lives. Anyone who is not before me after five minutes will be considered to be resisting arrest, and I will hunt them down to the last one, even if you escape to the ends of the earth!"

Jiang Chuan climbed down from Titan. Titan seemed tired and plopped down on the ground. The children, just coming out, saw Titan. Many children from Bilgewater had heard the legends of Titan. Now that they saw the real Titan, it was a testament to their strong psychological fortitude that they didn't cry. Jiang Chuan gave Kelly a look, and Kelly immediately understood. He said to the children, "The Guild Master has come with the Titan from the deep sea to rescue us. Is this how you treat the Guild Master? The Guild Master promised that he would help you find your families if you want to go home, and have them pick you up. For those who don't want to go home or have no home to return to, wherever the Guild Master goes is our home!"

Kelly was one of the older children. Although only fifteen, his mature mind was truly rare. Jiang Chuan looked at Kelly and nodded silently.

Most of the children believed Kelly's words. Jiang Chuan wasn't worried about those who didn't believe him. After all, the first thing he would do after subduing them was to count whether these children still remembered their families or addresses.

After five minutes, the ground before Jiang Chuan was filled with kneeling people, muttering about Lady Beard and the like. Jiang Chuan said coldly, "Whoever is in charge here, come out."

Lowry trembled as he walked out. "Envoy, I am the highest-ranking person here. All the high-ranking officials died in the main hall."

Jiang Chuan frowned. "Envoy? Explain yourself clearly, or you'll lose your head!"

Lowry trembled. "Envoy, everyone in Bilgewater knows that Nautilus only obeys one person, and that is the great Lady Beard. If you can command Nautilus, you must be sent by Lady Beard to punish the Bloodfang Gang."

Jiang Chuan's eyes lit up when he heard the envoy's title. This title could be used as a guise, and it would also serve as an excuse for summoning heroes in the future.

Jiang Chuan said, "How many people do you have here in total? From now on, call me Guild Leader."

Laurie said respectfully, "Yes, Guild Leader. Everyone remaining in the Bloodfang Gang is here, a total of eight hundred people. What do you think..."

Jiang Chuan said coldly, "Now, tell me who participated in the trafficking or capture of children, including yourself!"

Laurie said fearfully, "Guild Leader, I was the deputy leader back then. It was precisely because I stopped them from trafficking children that they demoted me to a squad leader. Jiang Chuan beckoned, and Kelly walked over. Jiang Chuan smiled and said, "Now, go pick people. Whether they are guards or caretakers, bring them out."

Kelly dragged fifteen people out from among the eight hundred. Among them was an old man who had been kind to Kelly and the other children. Jiang Chuan waved his hand at Titan, and before those people could react, they were smashed to death by the anchor.

Jiang Chuan helped the old man up and smiled, "Old sir, what is your name?"

The old man stooped and said, "Guild Leader, my name is Edmund. I used to be in charge of distributing food to the children. Unfortunately, with my old bones, I couldn't save the children, so I could only add some meat to their meals a few days a week."

Jiang Chuan smiled and said, "Edmund, you did very well. Starting tomorrow, you will be responsible for tallying which children want to find their families. You will be responsible for recording the information of those children. I will personally supervise this matter."

Edmund's eyes welled up with tears, and he said, "Guild Leader, don't worry. As long as a child wants to go home, even if these old bones of mine break from exhaustion, I will help them return home. I will not disappoint you!"

After Jiang Chuan patted Edmund's shoulder, he walked in front of Laurie and said, "Is this what you call 'without a single lie'?"

Laurie was so terrified that his soul almost left his body. He said in a panic, "Guild Leader, I really didn't know about those people. The leader of the Bloodfang Gang had many people monitoring me to prevent me from betraying him. Guild Leader, please believe me."

Jiang Chuan did not want to commit more bloodshed. He said coldly, "From today onwards, you will be responsible for the defense and repair of this island. If anything goes wrong, you know the consequences, right?"

Jiang Chuan whispered in Laurie's ear, "If I find out you have any wicked intentions, I will give you to Fiz or that greedy demon as a toy. I always keep my word."

Laurie broke out in a cold sweat and said loudly, "I, Laurie, swear my loyalty to the Guild Leader with my life! I will never betray you!"
