Having learned of the cruelty beyond Earth, Kami Piccolo had been taught a harsh lesson.
He had come to fully understand that, as Earth's Kami, he might seem lofty and untouchable, but to the powerful lifeforms of other planets, he was not even worth more than an ant.
As Kairos had said, even an ordinary Frieza Force soldier could kill him.
In the past, no extraterrestrial life had ever visited Earth, so he could afford not to take such things seriously.
But now, Kairos had come. And according to Kairos, a Saiyan child would be sent to Earth in the future.
That meant Earth had long since been exposed to those evil forces. It simply had not yet suffered an alien invasion.
Kami Piccolo felt fortunate—fortunate that Kairos was not the kind of utterly wicked invader who would destroy everything in his path.
Although, according to Kairos, the Saiyans were a warrior race serving the Galactic Emperor Frieza, and most Saiyans had always invaded and seized the planets of other races...
At the very least, Kairos had spoken frankly and had not used his overwhelming power to occupy Earth. That made him one of the good ones.
He was also fortunate that, to extraterrestrial civilizations, Earth held little value for exploitation, and its people were so weak that no one bothered to take notice of them.
Otherwise, it would likely have been destroyed long ago.
After leaving the Spaceship, Kairos did not look at the still-dazed Kami Piccolo. He once again stored the Spaceship in the System Space.
Just then, Mr. Popo rode up from below Kami's Lookout on the Magic Carpet.
Apparently, while Kairos and Kami Piccolo had been talking, he had finished cleaning the kitchen and gone to retrieve the Senzu Beans.
"Senzu Beans can not only satisfy hunger, but also restore stamina and heal injuries. Even severed hands or feet can be healed with a Senzu Bean."
After hearing Mr. Popo's explanation, Kairos put on a suitably shocked expression.
After all, Kami Piccolo had not mentioned that before, saying only that they could satisfy hunger. Kairos could not possibly have known in advance, so he needed to act a little.
Taking the small jar from Mr. Popo, Kairos eagerly opened the lid and saw that it was filled to the brim with Senzu Beans.
Though the jar was small, it seemed to contain no fewer than a hundred Senzu Beans.
He took one out and examined it carefully.
Aside from being unable to cure poison, this thing was truly the greatest cheat item in the Dragon Ball world.
One bean could instantly heal any severe injury. It restored not only stamina, but energy as well, and could even bring someone on the verge of death back to full health.
If its effects varied according to the user's strength, that would be one thing. But Senzu Beans treated everyone equally, no matter who they were or how powerful they were.
Simply put, it was a rule-based item.
Even after activating the Eye of Insight, Kairos could not see what kind of special power the Senzu Bean contained. Other than seeing through it completely, a bean was still just a bean.
Without wasting time, Kairos tossed the Senzu Bean in his hand into his mouth. He chewed it a few times to sample the flavor, then swallowed it.
It tasted pretty good, somewhat like the pistachios he had eaten in his previous life.
Almost the instant he swallowed it, all the fatigue in his body suddenly vanished.
Not only that, even his mental strength seemed to have recovered. He felt brimming with energy, so full of vigor that he wanted to fight a great battle and vent it all.
"Good, very good! This feeling is incredible! Could you give me some more Senzu Beans?" Kairos stored the entire jar of Senzu Beans in the System Space, then looked earnestly at Mr. Popo before glancing at Kami Piccolo.
Neither Mr. Popo nor Kami Piccolo had expected Kairos to value Senzu Beans so highly.
Although Senzu Beans were indeed miraculous, neither of them understood just how important they truly were.
Only after experiencing enough invasions in the future, when Senzu Beans became scarce, would they understand how valuable a single bean was—and that they absolutely could not be allowed to fall into enemy hands.
"If you want more Senzu Beans, you can accompany Mr. Popo to the top of Korin Tower and visit Korin. He is the one who cultivates them. He should have built up quite a stockpile over the years," Kami Piccolo said without hesitation.
"Then I'll have to trouble Mr. Popo again." Kairos's eyes lit up as he immediately turned to Mr. Popo.
"No need to be so polite. Korin does indeed have quite a few in reserve. I was originally worried that taking too many would be pointless, but since you want more, I'll take you down there now," Mr. Popo said.
"Alright!"
And so, Kairos stepped onto Mr. Popo's Magic Carpet. After saying goodbye to Kami Piccolo, the two left Kami's Lookout.
As he watched Kairos leave with Mr. Popo, Kami Piccolo's expression grew increasingly solemn, his eyes filled with deep contemplation.
He had received far too much information today, and he needed time to process it properly.
He understood even more clearly that he had to establish a friendly relationship with Kairos.
It was as though he had some special premonition. His instincts told him that he had to trust Kairos. Perhaps in the future, Earth would need Kairos to protect it.
All the way down from Kami's Lookout, Kairos also experienced the wonder of the flying Magic Carpet.
It was completely different from flying on his own, and it gave Kairos an idea—should he ask Korin for a Flying Nimbus later?
The Flying Nimbus might have a limited speed, but it was definitely not slow. It would be perfect as a means of transportation.
He was only worried that he might fall off it. After all, those who were not pure of heart could not stand on the Flying Nimbus.
If worse came to worst, a Dark Flying Nimbus would do too.
They soon reached the top of Korin Tower.
Kairos immediately spotted the cat hermit standing at the edge of Korin Tower's summit. Leaning on Korin's Staff, he looked up at them as they descended.
The cat hermit was both curious and astonished.
He was curious about what kind of monster had come from beyond Earth—one that had even made Mr. Popo come down to collect Senzu Beans.
What astonished him was that the Senzu Beans had only just been taken away, yet Mr. Popo had already brought this being down himself. And to the naked eye, he was merely a child, with an appearance not too different from that of an Earthling.
The Magic Carpet landed inside the summit of Korin Tower. Mr. Popo introduced him to Kairos. "This is Korin, the hermit of Korin Tower. The Senzu Beans were made by him."
"Korin, this is Kairos, a Saiyan from Planet Vegeta. The Senzu Beans from earlier were for him. He is very interested in them and wants more. Guardian of Earth has already granted permission," Mr. Popo likewise introduced Kairos to the cat hermit.
Hearing that, the cat hermit nodded, though his gaze remained fixed on Kairos.
Kairos studied the cat hermit as well, then blurted out a joke. "What a surprise. I never expected a hermit to be a big white cat."
The cat hermit clearly did not appreciate the teasing, but he did not dare say anything.
Because he could sense it—the power contained within the person before him was so terrifying that it made him tremble.
