Background / History
Frieza commanded the Frieza Force and ruled as the Galactic Emperor, using Saiyans to conquer worlds for his empire. Beerus authorized him as an agent of destruction and ordered the Saiyan race's eradication; this authority allowed Frieza to operate across the North Galaxy without intervention from lesser gods. 69 87
Fearing the potential of the legendary Super Saiyan, Frieza recalled Saiyan warriors to Planet Vegeta under false pretenses. His intended purge included not only the Saiyans but also Frieza Force soldiers stationed on the planet, whom he regarded as expendable pawns. 53 57
In the parallel timeline visited by Kairos, Frieza arrives at Planet Vegeta with his legion and permits King Vegeta III and sixty-six elite warriors to enter his ship before annihilating them. He then orders a full assault on the planet, offering his soldiers rewards for every Saiyan killed. 68
Frieza confronts Bardock and later Kairos during the invasion. After Kairos eliminates his army and repeatedly overwhelms him, Frieza reveals successive transformations and eventually unleashes his full power. His final Supernova fails to stop Kairos, who pierces the attack and kills Frieza with a single one-inch punch. 69 70 72 73 74
Appearance
Frieza is a compact, horned alien whose body changes drastically between transformation stages. In his first form, he uses a hoverchair; in his second form, his body grows beyond two and a half meters tall and develops large curved horns. 70
- His first-form hoverchair is destroyed by Kairos's attack. 70
- His second form has an enlarged muscular build and prominent curved horns. 70
- His final form is his primary combat state, capable of exceeding 100 million combat power. 68 70
Personality
Frieza is cruel, arrogant, and treats both Saiyans and his own soldiers as disposable inferiors. He planned a genocide as a precaution against the Super Saiyan legend and considered the deaths of allied soldiers insignificant so long as the operation succeeded. 53 68
His confidence rests largely on his innate strength and status. Because he rarely trained or fought seriously, he cannot accurately judge Kairos's power, lacks ki-sensing ability, and struggles to control his maximum output. 70 73
Despite extreme rage and humiliation, Frieza can rapidly compose himself and attempt tactical responses. During his fight with Kairos, he tries to stall for information, unlocks his sealed forms, and uses sudden attacks in an effort to regain the advantage. 70 73
Abilities & Skills
Transformations
Frieza suppresses his power through multiple forms and releases it when threatened.
- His first form possesses over 530,000 combat power. 68
- His second form exceeds 1,000,000 combat power. 70
- His final form can reach 120,000,000 combat power at full power. 68 72
- He cannot readily maintain or fully control his maximum power because he has neglected training. 70 73
Planet Destroyer Bomb
Frieza creates a large energy sphere intended to destroy Planet Vegeta.
- He uses it against Bardock during the invasion. 69
- Kairos blocks the attack with one finger, absorbs and redirects its energy, then uses it to destroy Frieza's nearby soldiers. 69
Death Beams
Frieza fires rapid piercing energy beams from his hand.
- He unleashes a barrage against Super Saiyan Kairos. 72
- Kairos evades every beam without being hit. 72
Death Cutter Discs
Frieza generates telekinetically controlled cutting energy discs.
- He claims the discs can slice through super-hard stellar cores. 73
- Kairos catches one energy slash barehanded and shatters the discs. 73
Flame Burst Wave
Frieza releases dozens or hundreds of high-temperature energy blasts at close range.
- The attack is a sustained bombardment meant to overwhelm an opponent. 73
- Kairos remains unharmed within the blast radius. 73
Supernova
Frieza's upgraded planet-destruction attack and final trump card.
- It is stronger than the Planet Destroyer Bomb and is usable by Frieza and Cooler in their final forms. 73
- Kairos pierces the Supernova and immediately kills Frieza. 73 74
Relationships
- Cooler — Older brother and rival. Cooler openly mocks Frieza's arrogance, considers him politically inferior, and is willing to let Kairos kill him rather than intervene. 70 71 73
- King Cold — Father. Frieza considers King Cold one of the very few people who had ever harmed him before Kairos. 70
- Beerus — Frieza acts under Beerus's authority as an agent of destruction; Beerus later criticizes Frieza for failing to completely eliminate the Saiyan bloodline. 38 69
- King Vegeta III — Saiyan king whom Frieza defeats and kills during the attempted rebellion. 68
- Bardock — Saiyan warrior Frieza initially views with a degree of respect for confronting impossible odds, though Bardock remains vastly weaker. 69
- Kairos — Super Saiyan opponent who destroys Frieza's legion, humiliates him through every transformation, and ultimately kills him. 69 70 72 73 74
Story Role / Major Arcs
Saiyan Purge
Frieza recalls Saiyan forces and attacks Planet Vegeta to eradicate the race he fears may produce a Super Saiyan. He kills King Vegeta III and his elite warriors before ordering his legion to slaughter the remaining Saiyans. 53 68
Battle against Kairos
After Kairos annihilates his troops and survives his Planet Destroyer Bomb, Frieza transforms from his first form through his final form. He cannot land a meaningful hit on Super Saiyan Kairos, whose combat power exceeds one billion. 69 70 72
Death
Frieza attempts Death Beams, Death Cutter Discs, Flame Burst Wave, and finally Supernova. Kairos breaks through the Supernova and kills him with a single one-inch punch, ending Frieza's control over the Saiyan race in that timeline. 72 73 74
Trivia
- Frieza's first form is described as a deliberately maintained low-power state rather than his true combat level. 70
- He believes that, had he trained seriously for only a few months, he could surpass Cooler; Kairos agrees that Frieza's potential is extraordinary despite mocking him. 71
- Frieza's failure to eliminate Kakarot and Vegeta is identified as a major consequence of his arrogance. 68
